통합교육연수의 필요성 및 개선방안에 대한 현장교사의 인식

국문 초록

이 연구는 통합교육연수에 대한 초등 통합학급교사와 특수학급교사의 인식을 살펴보고, 그것의 필요성과 개선방안을 심층면담을 통하여 알아보고자 하였다. 연구의 결과 및 결론을 간략하게 제시하면 다음과 같다. 현장교사들은 통합교육이 모든 학생을 대상으로 같은 교육활동을 한다는 점에 어려움을 가지고 있으며 통합교육개념에 대한 인식은 특수 교육적 차원에 머무르 고 있었다. 특수학급은 통합을 지원하는 것이 아닌 통합학급교사를 지원한다는 의존적 성향과 교수·학습 활동을 위한 협력교수 및 교육과정조정이 이루어지지 않았다. 개선방안으로 교사의 통합교육수행능력을 향상시키려면 일반교육과 특수교육이 융화된 통합교육연수 프로그램이 필요하며 통합학급교사와 특수학급교사가 협력교수를 해나가는 것을 바탕으로 세트화, 세분화, 단계화, 체계화 된 연수내용이 사례중심으로 연결되도록 설계되어야한다. 이 연구 결과는 통합교육연수 프로그램에 현장교사들의 요구를 반영하여 교사의 통합교육수행능력을 향상 시키고 통합교육이 모든 학생을 위한 교육이라는 인식변화가 현장교육에 직접적 영향을 주며, 학교를 재구조화 할 수 있는 방향으로 제도와 법이 바뀌어 통합교육환경을 변화시키는데 기여 할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was aimed to analyze elementary school teachers perception on the necessity and improvement measures of inclusive education training through in-depth interviews. The results indicated that the teachers experienced difficulties as activities in inclusive education were implemented as one-size-fits-for-all for all groups of students. They perceived that inclusive education was not differentiated from special education. They also responded that the special education itself could not effectively support the inclusive education because teachers rarely collaborated or coordinated for curriculum for more inclusive teaching and learning. In order to promote the teachers’ competencies to perform inclusive education, it is necessary to design and implement teacher training programs on inclusive education by converging general education and special education together. In addition, in-service training on inclusive education must be assorted, departmentalized, phased and systematized and be done on a regular and mandatory basis. This study is expected to contribute to expanding teachers’ understanding of inclusive education and to triggering further discussions on changes in legal and regulatory framework to establish more supportive environments for inclusive education.
