음악치료사들이 내담자로서 경험한 심리치료에 대한 합의적 질적연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 음악치료사들이 내담자로서 경험한 심리치료를 고찰하는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구자는 음악치료사로 활동하고 있으며, 개인 및 집단 심리치료의 경험이 있는 음악치료사 10명을 대상으로 심도 깊은 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였고 합의적 질적연구 방법으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 음악치료사들이 내담자로서 경험한 심리치료는 ‘심리치료를 시작하게 된 동기’, ‘심리치료에 대한 기대’, ‘심리치료 과정에서의 긍정적 경험’, ‘심리치료 과정에서의 어려운 경험’, ‘심리치료를 통한 개인적 성장’, ‘음악치료사로서의 전문적 성장’으로 6개의 영역이 나타났으며, 영역에 따라 22개의 범주가 도출되었다. 연구 결과, 음악치료사들은 심리치료에서 개인 이슈에 대한 심층적 탐색을 할 수 있었으며, 치료사에 대한 불신과 정서적 소진, 저항과 같은 어려움도 경험하였다. 이후 심리치료의 경험은 자기에 대한 이해 확장과 치료사 역할에 대한 확인, 치료의 질적 성장으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 음악치료사들의 성장에 심리치료가 가지는 의미와 가치를 전달하고 이에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the experiences of music therapists as a client in psychotherapy. The data were collected from in-depth interviews with ten music therapists and their experiences were examined by using consensual qualitative research (CQR). As a result, 6 domains of “motivation of starting psychotherapy,” “expectation on psychotherapy,” “positive experiences in the psychotherapy process,” “difficult experiences in the psychotherapy process,” “personal development through psychotherapy,” and “professional development through psychotherapy” were defined from the data. These domains were further divided into 22 categories. Music therapists were able to explore in-depth issues in psychotherapy and had difficulties such as distrust, burnout, and resistance from their experiences as a client. The experiences of psychotherapy further led to the extension of self-understanding, confirmation on the role of a therapist, and improvement of therapy quality. The results of the study show the meaning and values that psychotherapy can have for the growth of music therapists and provide basic data on them.
