국문 초록

최근 한국에서는 학교이외의 교육을 의미하는 영역중심의 사회교육 개념이 아닌 사회적 기능 중심의 사회교육 개념에 기초한 사회교육학이 모색되고 있다. 이러한 모색은 교육의 사회적 기능을 강조한 페스탈로치의 교육철학에 기초한 국제적인 사회교육학의 흐름과 맥을 같이한다. 이런 맥락에서 한국에서 사회교육학을 탐색하기 위해서는 페스탈로치의 사회교육사상이 한국에 어떻게 수용되어 왔는가에 대한 역사적 고찰이 요구된다. 구한말과 일제강점기의 경우 최현배는 이미 페스탈로치 교육사상을 ‘사회적 교육학’이라 소개함으로써 페스탈로치의 교육사상이 사회적 기능중심 사회교육학의 토대가 됨을 보여주었으며, 강치봉은 페스탈로치의 사회개혁적 교육사상을 직접적으로 ‘사회교육’ 용어와 연관시켰다. 해방이후 사회교육학 성립기에 황종건은 페스탈로 치의 교육사상을 평민지향적 사회교육실천을 위한 교육이념으로 추구한 반면 김정환은 페스탈로 치의 교육사상을 사회적 기능중심의 사회교육학 성립을 위한 이론적 기초로 해석하였다. 사회교육 용어 쇠퇴기의 경우에도 박영희는 페스탈로치 교육사상과 사회교육과의 관련성을 다시 제시 하고 있으며, 주영흠은 페스탈로치의 사회지향적 교육사상을 사회교육과 유사한 교육정치의 개념으로 해석하였다. 이와 같은 페스탈로치 사회교육사상 수용의 전통을 계승하여 한국에서도 사회적 기능중심의 사회교육학 정립을 위한 노력이 요구된다.

영문 초록

Presently in Korea, there is a new trial to establish a discipline of social education based on social function-centered concept of social education. As a part of this effort, it is useful to track the history of introducing Pestalozzi’s educational thought into Korea, for Pestalozzi is acknowledged as the most important basis of current social function-centered social education(social pedagogy). In the age of the Korean Empire and Japanese Colonial Period, Choi Hyeon-Bae revealed the relationship between Pestalozzi’s educational thought and social function-centered social education by representing Pestalozzi’s educational thought as ‘social pedagogy’. and, Kang Chi-Bong directly considered Pestalozzi as social educator in the meaning of socially oriented educator. In the shaping age of social education academically, whereas Hwang Jong-Kon accepted Pestalozzi’s educational thought as a guideline for practice of social education, Kim Jung-Hwan suggested Pestalozzi’s educational thought as a theoretical basis of social function-centered social education to integrate education and society. Lastly, in the declining age of social education, Park Young-Hee still mentioned the relationship between Pestalozzi’s educational thought and social education. Ju Yeong-Heum also interpreted Pestalozzi’s educational thought with the concept of ‘educational politics’ corresponding to social education. In sum, on the basis of abundant academic legacy of Pestalozzi’s social education thought, we have to establish the discipline of social function-centered social education.
