숲에서 ‘동물-되기’ 경험의 생태교육적 가능성

국문 초록

본 연구는 들뢰즈･가타리의 ‘동물-되기’를 바탕으로 초등학교 학생들의 숲 체험을 생태교육적 시각에서 해석하였다. ‘동물-되기’는 상이한 종(種)의 집단적 교차 속 예외적 개별자들 간의 만남에서 발생하는 새로움의 창출로서, 인간과 동물 나아가 모든 생명체의 존재론적 평등을 전제로 한다. 우리는 초등학생의 ‘박쥐-되기’, ‘다람쥐-되기’ 등과 같은 숲 체험을 ‘동물-되기’와 관계 깊은 ‘교육적 삶의 형식’ 속에서 해석할 수 있다. 이는 교육과 삶의 연관성 및 인간 이외의 존재들 –박테리아나 허리케인- 이 일구어내는 창조력에 주목한다. 결국 학생들의 숲에서 ‘동물-되기’ 경험은 생태교육에 대한 근본적 성찰, 생태교육 관련 담론의 활성화, 생태교육에서 이론과 실천의 결합에 기여할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the implications of forests activities at the basis of Deleuze and Guattari’s ‘animal-becoming’. Deleuze and Guattari’s ‘animal-becoming’ makes us to understand the meaning of the equality of nature, the significance of symbiosis and the value of a singularity. The forests activities with elementary students -‘bat-becoming’, ‘squirrel-becoming’ and ‘honeybee-becoming’-produce the educational meaning connecting to physical activities, drawing activities and so on. We can conceptualize these activities ‘educational life-forms’ that support the immanent value of education and the various expression of life both. In this respect, forests activities at the basis of ‘animal-becoming’ gives us the reflective language on ecological education and contributes to the invigoration of the relative discourses on it. Furthermore, they build a bridge between theory and practice on ecological education. Lastly, we are able to see the novel possibilities from a field work on ecological education.
