Purpose : To investigate the organ doses delivered including the eyes, thyroid glands, and genitals during the fluoroscopy and spot radiography by the Source-to-organ distance in the fluoroscopy room. Materials & Methods : Over table tube type(IRF-1000-150, Shimavision, Shimadzu, Japan) was used as a fluoroscopy unit, and also a dosimeter(Xi, Unfors co., Sweden)was used for measuring the doses delivered to eyes, thyroid glands, and genitals of women with 165cm at 50, 125, 180cm spot toward right horizontal direction of table, and at 110cm spot toward table top from the X-ray source. 21cm thickness of acrylic phantom(1100 alloy) as the abdomen of patients was used. The 84kVp, 1.8~1.9mAs under automatic exposure control system was chosen in fluoroscopy, and the 80kVp, 320mA, 63mSec in spot radiography. Results : During the fluoroscopy, doses delivered at eyes were 44.8μR(50cm), 20.1μR(110cm, head), 17.7μR(l25cm), and 0.0μR(180cm), and thyroid glands were 52.1μR, 23.5μR, 17.8μR, and 0.0μR, respectively. Genitals were 16.8μR at 50cm spot, and the others spot was all 0.0μR(p<0.005). During the spot radiography, doses delivered at eyes were 259.7μR(50cm), 195.8μR(110cm, head), 121.7μR(125cm), and 37.0μR(180cm), thyroid glands were 532.3μR(50cm), 164.7μR(110cm, head), 112.2μR(125cm), and 54.1μR(180cm), and genitals were 150.9μR(50cm), 60.3μR(125cm), 54.9μR(110cm, head), and 36.4μR(180cm), respectively(p<0.005). Conclusion : Organ doses delivered during the fluoroscopy and spot radiography was a wide difference according to the source-to-organ distance. It is necessary to wear eyes and thyroid glands shield besides apron, Because eyes and thyroid glands besides genitals are particularly sensitive to radiation.
