예비유아교사 다문화 교육과정 현황 연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 예비유아교사 양성과정에 있어서의 다문화 교육과정의 현황을 살펴보고 예비유아교사들의 다문화 교육 현황을 파악하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 전국 유아교육과와 유아교사를 배출하는 유사학과의 교육과정을 조사하였다. 총 211개 대학의 교사양성학과의 교육과정을 조사하여 다문화 교육관련 과목 개설 여부와 다문화 관련 교과목의 내용을 살펴보았다. 분석결과 다문화 관련과목이 개설된 학과는 총 15개였으며 이중 14개 학과에는 전공교과로 개설되었으며 1개 학과에서는 교양과목으로 개설되었다. 본 결과를 바탕으로 예비유아교사 교육과정에 있어 다문화 관련교과목의 양적인 확대가 필요하며 예비유아교사 교육과정내의 확대 뿐 만아니라 실제 개설될 수 있도록 유도하여야 함을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the current practices of opening multicultural-education-related courses in pre-service early childhood teacher education programs in Korea and analyzed the features of each course. There are 211 listed programs total-1 2-year programs, 121 3-year program, and 90 4-year programs-for pre-service teacher education To inquire about the curricula, researchers accessed the website of each program and searched whether there were any multicultural education courses. There are 15 programs among the 211 which have a multicultural education course. The titles of each class are the following: Multicultural Education for Young Children, The theory and education of Multiculture, and Understanding Multicultural Education Researchers inferred the main reason for the scarcity of courses relevant to multicultural education among the required courses for obtaining kindergarten teacher certification. According to the current teacher certification system, it is not required to take a course related to multicultural education, and, rather, there is a separate certification system for the multicultural teacher. However, considering the kindergarten practices of our country, in that most kindergartens are private, it will be more practical to include the article of requirerrent to take at least a minimum of multicultural education credits to be a early childhood teacher.
