국문 초록

본 연구는 사회복지사의 정신건강에 있어서 소진이 미치는 영향을 파악하고 업무환경의 조절효과를 파악하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 본 조사는 2007년 4월 현재 서울에 위치한 사회복지기관에 재직 중인 사회복지사를 대상으로 2007년 4월 20일부터 5월 20일까지 설문조사를 실시하였다. 총 260개의 설문지가 배포되었고 218개가 회수되어 208개의 사례를 최종분석에 사용하였다. 연구결과, 사회복지사의 소진이 정신건강에 부정적인 영향을 주는 중요한 요인으로 검증되었고, 업무환경은 사회복지사의 정신건강을 향상시킬 수 있는 긍정적인 영향을 주는 변인으로 확인되었다. 또한 사회복지사의 소진과 업무환경의 상호작용 효과가 정신건강에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 검증한 결과, 업무환경 변인 중 안정감과 승진 요인의 조절효과가 검증되었다. 결과적으로, 소진이 사회복지사의 정신건강에 미치는 부정적인 영향을 완화시키기 위하여 안정적인 업무환경을 조성하고 체계적인 승진 절차를 마련하는 것이 중요함을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 사회복지사의 정신건강을 향상시키기 위해서는 소진을 예방하는 것과 더불어 업무환경의 질을 높이는 일이 중요함을 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims at evaluating the effects of burnout and the moderating effect of working environments on the mental health of social workers. The study data were collected from social workers of social welfare organizations in Seoul on the date of April 2007. The 218 answers (83.8%) out of total 260 data distributed for one month between April 20 and May 20 2007 have been retrieved and 208 answers were included in the final analysis. The result of the analysis showed that burnout brought a negative effect and the well facilitated working environment was a positive factor on the improvement of the mental health of social workers. The interactive factors between burnout and working environment influencing the mental health showed that stability and promotion had a positive moderating effect. In conclusion, stable working environment and systematic promotion system could alleviate the negative effect of burnout on the mental health of social workers. This study found out the importance of preventing burnout and enhancing the quality of working environment in order to improve the social worker s mental health.
