국문 초록

일본 소시민영화는 국민에게 불안에서 벗어나게 해주는 역할을 담당했다. 그리고 저급한 수준으로만 인식하던 일본영화를 관객에게 친숙함으로 다가가도록 하면서 처음으로 대중성을 확보했다. 오늘날 소시민영화는 밝은 이미지를 일관하면서 홈드라마를 탄생시켰다. 이러한 ‘밝은 이미지’는 소시민영화가 유지될 수 있었던 주요한 요소로 작용 하였다. 또한 밝은 이미지로 세상의 부조리함을 풍자할 수도 있었고, 국민의식을 선진화 하는 데에 일조하기도 했다. 다시 말해서 소시민영화는 국가와 국민 모두에게 유용한 수단으로 작용했던 것이다. 본고에서는 소시민영화가 묘사하는 시대성에 ‘명랑’이라는 영화의 제작방침이 어떠한 방식으로 밝은 이미지를 담아내고 있는지 소시민의 공간 탄생과 활용을 중심으로 고찰하는 데 목적을 두었다. 그들의 주거 공간으로 기능하는 하숙집과 문화주택은 자신의 지위 또는 신분을 드러내는 것들로 채워진 ‘단란한’ 공간으로 표상되고 있었다. 그리고 회사는 소시민이 그들의 지적 능력을 제공하고 그 대가로 월급을 받는 곳이지만, 직장은 곧 소시민 자신과 동일시되기 때문에 그들의 출근 복장은 ‘화이트칼라’와 ‘샐러리맨’임을 나타내는 외적 징표가 되었다. 그래서 그들은 형편이 넉넉지 않아도 자신들의 ‘댄디한’ 스타일을 유지하기 위해서 부단히 노력하고 있었다. 그리고 그들은 기차와 전차로 출근과 퇴근을 반복하면서 ‘통근고용자’가 되었다. 이처럼 소시민의 사회적 지위를 나타내는 외적 징표가 복장과 이동 수단까지도 포함하고 있었다. 소시민의 입신출세를 위한 창구였던 학교는 규율과 규칙으로 권력화 된 공간이었음에도 불구하고 학생들의 일탈로 발생하는 ‘순발력’과 ‘재치’로 ‘경쾌한’ 분위기를 만들고 있었음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The films of Japanese petit bourgeois have played a role for the people to get away from anxiety. They have secured popularity for the first time, ap-proaching the Japanese films recognized only at a low level with familiarity towards the audience. The films of petit bourgeois kept constantly bright to-day to give birth with home dramas. This bright image acted as a main factor the films of petit bourgeois to be keep on going. They could also satirize irra-tionality of the world and contribute to advance the national consciousness. In other words, the films of petit bourgeois acted as a useful means for both the nation and people. This study aimed at considering how the course producing the film called ‘bright’ contains a bright image in the trend of times the films of petit bour-geois depict.examined the birth and use of space for petit bourgeois. The boarding house and cultural house functioning as their residence were sym-bolized as ‘happy’ spaces filled with those showing their position or status. And the company is the place the petit bourgeois provide their intelligence and get monthly pay as its price, but job is identified with the petit bourgeois him/herself, so their commuting attire have become the external symbol that shows ‘white collar’ and ‘salaried man.’ Therefore, they were trying hard to keep their ‘dandy’ style even though they were not well off. And, they be-came ‘commuting employee,’ repeating commuting by train or tram. Likewise, the external symbol that shows the social status of petit bourgeois has been including the attire and means of transport. It was acknowledgeable that the school authorized with rules and regulations was making ‘cheerful’ atmos-phere with ‘agility’ and ‘wit’ from the deviation of students.
