국문 초록

루쉰은 주로 소설가나 사상가로서 조명되는 경우가 많다. 그러나 젊은 시절의 루쉰은 중국의 고대 전적을 수집하고 정리했던 문헌학자이기도 했다. 특히 베이징대학 등에서 중국소설사를 강의하게 되면서 이것을 정리해 중국소설사를 집필하려는 생각을 가졌고, 이를 위한 1차 작업이라 할 수 있는 고대 소설작품의 집록에 힘썼다. 이 작업은 시기적으로 한위漢魏 육조六朝 시기의 작품들을 망라한 《고소설구침古小說鉤沉》과 당송대의 전기 작품들을 모아 놓은 《당송전기집唐宋傳奇集》, 그리고 송대 이후 소설 작품들의 고증과 해설인 《소설구문초小說舊聞鈔》로 나뉜다. 이 글에서는 이 세 가지 자료집이 만들어지는 과정과 각각의 의의와 영향에 대해 고찰했다. 혹자는 루쉰의 이러한 집록 작업이 그의 출신지인 저쟝浙江 지역을 기반으로 하는 청대 고증학의 일파인 건가학파乾嘉學派의 영향을 받은 것으로 평가하기도 한다. 하지만 루쉰은 단순히 이에 머물지 않고, 자신의 창견創見을 더해 몇 가지 방면에서 이전보다 발전된 면모를 보이기도 했다. 결국 이러한 광범한 자료 수집과 정확한 고증을 통해 궁극적으로 《중국소설사략》이라는 큰 업적을 이룰 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Lu Xun is known as a novelist and thinker represent a modern China; however, he was also a philologist collected and put together Chinese old texts. In his youth, he totally gave himself up to take a rubbing of a old stone inscription and copied that by hand. Furthermore, He collected and emend ancient Chinese novels to write one of his major works, The Brief History of Chinese Novel中國小說史略. And he show a continued attention to the research of Chinese ancient novels by relationship with Japanese scholars like Shionoya On鹽谷溫, Masuda Wataru增田涉 and Karashima Takeshi辛島驍. Lu Xun’s research of Chinese ancient novels can be divided into three phases as below. The first is the collection and emendation of Chinese novels such as Annotated Compilation of Ancient Fiction古小說鉤沉, Selection of Fictional Romances from the Tang and Song Period唐宋傳奇集 and Old Sources of Fiction小說舊聞鈔. The second is to write a first history of Chinese novel, that is to say, The Brief History of Chinese Novel中國小說史略. The third is his study of Chinese novels we can know as a short papers published intermittently. In this thesis, we can observe three collections of Chinese novel can be a groundwork of his research of Chinese novels.
