초등교사의 수업기술과 역사 수업의 전문성

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 역사 수업에서 교사의 수업 기술을 설명의 방식, 활동의 선택, 발문의 적용, 자료의 활용의 측면에서 논의하였다. 설명의 방식과 활동의 선택, 발문과 자료 활용은 수업에서 내용에 대한 해석 및 전달의 과정에서 필수적으로 뒤따르는 수업 기술에 해당한다. 아울러 역사 교사의 수업 기술을 형성하는 요인으로 첫째, 수업 기술에 대한 이해, 둘째, 역사 내용에 대한 이해, 셋째, 학습자에 대한 이해, 그리고 넷째, 교사의 신념을 제시하였다. 각각의 요인들에 대한 교사의 이해 정도에 따라 역사 수업은 본질적인 의미를 발현할 수도 있지만 그렇지 않을 수도 있다. 이와 같이 형성된 교사의 수업 기술과 관련된 전문성은 교수 레퍼토리의 정립으로 구체화된다. 교수레퍼토리는 교사가 교과 내용을 전달하는 과정에서 사용하는 설명, 활동, 자료 등 선택 사항들의 조합이다. 교사들은 수업에서 주로 수업 활동의 선정과 자료의 사용을 중심으로 ‘조사 발표’를 강조하거나 ‘역사 이야기’를 주로 사용하거나 혹은 ‘연표’와 ‘시각자료’ 등을 활용한다. 각각의 교수 레퍼토리들은 교사의 역사 내용 및 역사 수업에 대한 신념이 담겨 있으며, 또한 역사 수업의 실천을 통한 형성의 과정이 포함되어 있으며, 궁극적으로 ‘좋은 수업’을 위한 교사의 전문성으로 발전해 나간다. 향후 역사 수업에서 교사의 전문성에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대한 체계적인 분석과 함께 구체적인 수업의 상황에서 교사의 전문성이 형성되는 맥락에 대한 검토가 뒤따라야 할 것이다. 이를 바탕으로 교사의 수업 기술과 전문성을 향상하기 위한 프로그램의 개발이 이루어져야 한다.

영문 초록

The term, instruction skill does not only mean general subject technique but rather implicates the whole means used in the process of interpretation and transmission of subject content which is based on understanding of content. In this study, instruction skill in history instruction was discussed in four aspects; ways of explanation, selection of activity, application of question, and utilization of materials. These four aspects are essential skill in the process of interpretation and transmission of subject content. And the primary factors forming teachers instruction skill are suggested as the understanding of instruction skill, the understanding of history contents, the understanding of learners and the belief of teachers. The degree of teachers understanding of each factor determines whether the substantial meaning of history instruction can be materialized or not. The expertise related to this instruction skill is embodied by establishment of pedagogical repertoire. Pedagogical repertoire is the combination of selections used in the process of content transmission. Teachers mainly emphasize inquiry-presentation , or use historical narrative , time line or visual material . In each pedagogical repertoire, teachers beliefs on history content and instruction and its formation process through history instruction practice are included, which finally develops into teacher expertise for better instruction .
