국문 초록

역사수업에 가장 커다란 영향을 미치는 것은 역사교사이기 때문에 역사교육의 발전을 위해서는 다른 무엇보다도 역사교사에 대한 논의가 필수적이다. 이에 본고에서는 중등 역사교사의 양성과 재교육 프로그램의 현황과 개선 방향을 살피고자 하였다. 그동안 역사교사의 양성과 재교육 프로그램은 역사교육학의 발전과 사범대학 평가를 통해서 일정한 개선이 있었다. 그러나 역사교육 연구를 보다 심화시키려는 자체의 노력이 전개되는 가운데 공통사회 복수(또는 연계) 전공이라는 외부적 요인이 작용하면서 교과교육학, 교과내용학은 모두 수업 시수는 물론 내용에 있어서 일정한 체계와 차별성을 갖추지 못했다. 이에 역사교육학계에서는 역사교사의 전문성 개념에 대한 논의의 장을 마련하였고, 공통사회 전공으로 인해 축소된 교과내용학의 과목 수를 확대하기 위해 노력하는 한편 ‘역사교사 양성을 위한 프로그램 표준지침서’ 마련에 대비하며 프로그램 개선을 위해 노력하고 있다.

영문 초록

The most important part of a history lesson is the history teacher, so the improvement of history education requires discussions about history teachers. This article deals with the status and future direction of education and reeducation programs for history teachers in secondary schools. Until now, the education and reeducation programs for history teachers have improved to some degree with the development of pedagogy of history and evaluation of colleges of education. However, despite the efforts to further researches in history education, the pedagogy of curriculum and analytics of curriculum contents failed to achieve structural foundations and uniqueness in lessons hours and the contents, due to the extraneous effects of tendencies of future teachers to double-or-triple-major in various, if not related, fields of social studies. Now the academic world of history education prepared the debate on a concept of specialty for history teachers, in order to augment the number of subjects on the analytics of curriculum contents and to improve the program with respect to a standard guide to programs for training history teachers.
