국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 부모ㆍ학생 배경이 학교적응에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 데 있다. 이 연구에서 학교적응 개념을 학습활동, 학교규칙, 교우관계, 교사관계로 구분하였고, 연구대상은 한국 아동ㆍ청소년 패널데이터 3차년도 자료의 중학교 3학년 학생 2,259명이다. 연구결과, 학교적응 상위 20%집단은 학교적응에 정적 영향을 주는 변인이 높게 나타났으나 하위 20% 집단은 부적 변인이 높았다. 둘째, 부모의 방임적 양육태도는 자녀의 학교적응과 부적상관이 있었고, 학생의 학습습관 변인들은 학교적응에 정적상관이 두드러지게 나타났다. 셋째, 학생의 학습습관 요인 가운데 ‘행동통제’, ‘성취가치지향’ 변인은 다른 변인들에 비해 학교적응 영역 전반에 영향을 주고 있어 학습습관 형성이 학교적응에 중요한 요인임을 시사한다. 그리고 부모배경과 관련하여, ‘부모학력’은 자녀의 학습활동 참여에 긍정적인 영향을 주지만, 심한 욕설과 물리적 폭력과 같은 ‘학대’는 학생의 학습활동 참여를 방해하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학교생활적응 하위 네 영역의 평균으로 볼 때 학생의 ‘행동통제’, ‘성취가치지향’, ‘자아존중감’, ‘공동체 의식’ 변인은 학생의 학교생활 전반에 높은 영향을 주었다.

영문 초록

This study focused on four specific areas of school adjustment; learning attitude, school rules, classmate relationship, and teacher-student relationship. The purpose of this study was to analyze the association between the specific school adjustment areas and parental and individual student background. Using a sample from the Korea Youth Panel Survey, conducted by the Korea Institute for Youth Development, the data of 2,259 middle school students has been examined. Findings of this study are as follows. The top quarter group of school adjustment scored the higher points in student and parent factors which have been known as positive effects to school adjustment. Whereas the bottom quarter group scored the higher points in the negative influencing factors to the adjustment. With regard to school adjustment areas, leaning attitude was highly influenced by the learning habits such as behavioral control for learning, achievement-oriented characteristics. Besides, parents’ educational backgrounds and parenting style have also influenced the level of school adjustment. For example, parents’ educational backgrounds and abusive parenting style influenced the learning attitude, and non-intervention of parental style affected classmate relationship. In the following study, it is required to analyze the mechanism that clearly shows how specific student and parent factors influence learning attitude, school rules, classmate relationship, and student-teacher relationship.
