영문 초록

As the local cities have declined, the urban regeneration has received attention from the government as an important urban policy to regenerate the local cities. The central and local governments try to revitalize the declined urban space through specialized images and competitiveness, and promoting a variety of projects and programs. In the urban regeneration, the governance system has been recognized as the most important policy instrument to implement the projects and programs successfully. In this context, this study examined the governance system for urban regeneration with reference to Nam-gu, Daegu, and analyzed the effects of the governance system on the urban regeneration project through survey of residents. According to the study, the governance system turned out to be not very effective in partnership promotion, citizen participations, and activation of business in urban regeneration projects. However, the individual agencies or organizations which make up the governance system indicated the differential effects on the projects.
