영문 초록

Historically,downtowns have played an key role in the city.In particular, their intensive commercial and business functions have contributed to urban life by providing commodity and convenience for such diverse activities as:shopping,business, entertainment,and so on.However,as mostmodern cities had been expanded the city centers have been declined gradually.more recently,the population has been reduced in developed countries and itresulted in more intensive deterioration in urban centers.There is no exception in Korea.Also,we have experienced the decline ofurban centers and old residentialareas,inparticular,inlocalcities. Thepurposeofthisstudy focused on thelocalcitiesto solvetheproblemscaused by urban decline by reviewing recentresearch results ofthe centralgovernmentand by exploring applicable techniques and policy guidelines intermsofurbanregeneration. Based on thereview ofthebasicconceptstolocalcitiesforthedeclinetoidentify the cause and through existing research extraction such as urban regeneration targetareas, causing urban declin,urban regeneration strategies and objectives of each element to classify the types ofurban regeneration and to analyze the process ofTest-bed project promotion
