근대 경기(京畿)의 학교무용교육 고찰

국문 초록

본 논문은 개화기에서 1945년까지 경기도의 학교무용관련 자료를 검토하여 근대의 경기 무용교육의 특징을 규명하고 있다. 근대학교의 설립과정과 경기지역의 학교, 학교 무용의 내용과 시대적 단상을 연구내용으로 하여 경기지역의 학교무용교육을 고찰해 본 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개화기의 학교무용은 신문화수용의 전진 기지로서 설립된 근대학교(경신, 관립한성외국어 학교)에서 체조와 유희라는 이름으로 정식교과가 되었으며 이는 신체훈련의 일환으로 진행되었다. 둘째, 일제시대의 학교무용은 유희, 댄스, 교육무용의 형태를 통해 예술적 체육의 형태로 운동회와 학예회, 특히 여학교에서 집중적으로 행해짐으로써 여성이 공식적으로 사회에 나설 수 있는 기회를 제공했고 이는 신체에 대한 새로운 가치 인식과 무용에 대한 교육적 인식을 가능하게 했다.

영문 초록

This study is focused on the characteristics of dance education in Gyeonggi province in modern times by reviewing the literature of Gyeonggi school dance from the enlightenment period to 1945. Gyeonggi School dance education was examined on the basis of the establishment process of modern schools, and schools and the content and periodic aspect of school dance in Gyeonggi province as research contents. Findings of this study are as follows: First, school dance in the enlightenment period was adopted as a formal course of study in the title of gymnastics and playing in modern schools established as a forward base to accept new culture, which had been conducted as part of physical training. Second, school dance in the Japanese Colonial Period had been conducted in sports meetings, exhibitions of student works specially in girls schools in forms of playing, dancing and educational dance into physical education of art, giving women an opportunity to enter public affairs and enabling them to newly recognize value of the human body as well as dance from the viewpoint of education.
