국문 초록

이 논문의 목적은 모세이야기가 문화콘텐츠로 개발되는 과정에서 변용 요소를 밝혀내는 데 있다. 이를 통해 성서를 창작 소재로 한 우수한 문화콘텐츠 생산에 대한 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 성서는 절대자인 하나님의 약속이라는 큰 틀에서 인간과 집단의 장애와 극복, 대립과 화해, 이를 통한 성장을 기록하고 있다. 따라서 우수한 창작소재의 기본이 되는 영웅서사와 문화원형의 전형을 따르고 있으며, 성서의 경전으로서의 특성인 시간의 영속성을 바탕으로 변용의 여지 또한 포함하고 있다. 인류 문화의 보고로서 성서는 시대와 상황에 적합한 변용이 필요하다. 성서에 포함된 모세이야기는 영웅의 성장을 다룬 서사로서 다수의 미술작품과 소설, 영화를 비롯해 애니메이션과 뮤지컬로 창작되어 다양한 향유 계층의 소구력을 확보하였다. 그 중 파라마운트 픽처스에서 제작한 영화 <십계>는 문자로 기록된 서사에서 영상으로 변환하는 과정에서 다양한 변용이 발견된다. 등장하는 인물 수의 증가에 시각적 구현을 위한 사실적 표현이 더하여졌다. 아울러 인물 간의 관계 구조 또한 복잡해지고 세분화되어 나타났으며, 이를 통해 플롯이 증가되어 서사 진행의 개연성과 핍진성의 확보, 사건의 동기부여가 확실하게 처리되는 과정을 볼 수 있다. 이 같은 변용의 과정에서 발생하는 양상은 콘텐츠의 흥행 실패의 위험을 감소, 향유 계층을 고려한 향유 요소 확대, 후발 콘텐츠에 대한 견인력 등을 활발하게 한다. 결국 좋은 창작 소재를 개발하는 것만큼 중요한 요소가 향유 계층 확대를 위한 변용이다. 성서는 이러한 요건에 충족하는 원형으로서 성서의 대중적 선호 기반을 바탕으로 하여 시대의 소구에 맞는 양질의 콘텐츠로 확대 재생산이 필요하다. 이러한 변용은 향유 계층의 확대를 넘어 성서가 지니는 본래의 가치를 더욱 확고하게 한다.

영문 초록

The aim of this essay is to shed light upon some acculturation factors in developing the stories of Moses to cultural contents and then seeks for the ways of producing the excellent cultural contents that the Bible underlies the materials for creative writing. The Bible records the obstacles and subjugation, the conflicts and reconciliations of human beings and groups and the growth through them in the big frame of God, the Absolute. Accordingly, the Bible is typical of heroic epics and cultural archetypes, containing the possibility of acculturation based on the perpetuation of time which is a feature of the scriptures. The Bible which is the treasury of human cultures needs the acculturation suitable for ages and situations. Mose s stories in the Bible have been re-created into animations and musicals including many works of art, novels and movies, which are enjoyed by various classes. Out of them, produced by Paramount Pictures has various acculturations in the course of change from the epics written in letters to pictures. The numeric increase of characters and the realistic description for visual embodiment are added to them. In addition, the relation structure between characters become more complex and detailed, and so the plots are increased and we can see how the probability of stream of stories, the disappearance of stories and the motif of plots are clearly dealt. The aspects occurring in the course of such acculturation decrease the risk of the box-office failure of contents and increase the appreciation factors in consideration of appreciation classes, so that they do facilitate the traction for upcoming contents. Therefore, it is an important factor to develop the good materials for creative writings in extending appreciation classes. As the Bible is an archetype satisfying this requirement, we need to extend and reproduce it to the contents with good quality meeting the needs of the times. Such acculturation consolidates all the more the natural value that the Bible keeps beyond extending appreciation classes.
