성인의 세계시민의식 영향요인에 대한 탐색적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 성인의 세계시민의식 수준을 분석하고, 세계시민의식에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하여 성인 대상 세계시민교육 추진에 대한 시사점을 도출하기 위한 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 세계시민의식 측정도구를 한국 성인에게 적합한 도구로 수정하여 3개 영역, 26개 문항으로 구성하고 타당도와 신뢰도를 확보하였다. 다음으로 20대에서 50대까지 성인 325명의 세계시민의식 수준을 측정하고, 각 집단 특성에 따른 세계시민의식 차이를 분석하였다. 마지막으로 선행연구에서 밝혀진 세계시민의식에 영향을 미치는 13개 요인에 대해 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 성인의 세계시민의식은 3.31이고, 하위요인별로는 사회적 책임 3.87, 글로벌 역량 3.43, 글로벌 시민참여 2.91 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 개인특성별 세계시민의식 차이는 연령, 교육수준, 해외 방문경험, 해외 체류경험, 국내외 자원봉사 참여경험, 평생교육 참여경험, 세계시민교육 경험이 집단 간 유의한 차이가 있음이 확인되었다. 셋째, 세계시민의식에 미치는 영향요인에 대한 위계적 회귀분석 결과, 자원봉사 참여경험, 교육수준, 평생교육 참여경험이 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인인 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 세계시민의식 하위요인 중 사회적 책임에 대한 유의한 영향요인은 평생교육 참여경험, 대인신뢰, 연령이 도출되었고, 글로벌 역량의 영향요인은 자원봉사 참여경험과 교육수준으로, 글로벌 시민참여에는 자원봉사 참여경험, 교육수준, 해외 방문경험, 제도신뢰가 확인되었다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 성인을 위한 세계시민교육 추진에 있어 교육의 내용과 방법에 대한 고민과 함께 제도에 대한 신뢰도를 높이기 위한 노력이 필요하다는 정책적 시사점을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the level of global citizenship of adults and to explore the factors influencing global citizenship for global citizenship education. First, we modified the global citizenship measurement tool for adults and composed of 3 domains and 26 items, and secured validity and reliability. Next, we measured the level of global citizenship among 325 adults and analyzed the difference of global citizenship according to each group characteristics. Finally, we conducted a hierarchical regression analysis of 13 factors influencing the global citizenship revealed in previous studies. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the global citizenship of adults is 3.31, and the sub-factors are social responsibility 3.87, global competency 3.43, global citizen participation 2.91. Second, it was found that there was a significant difference in the global citizenship by age, education level, experience of overseas visit, overseas stay, volunteering, lifelong education. Third, the hierarchical regression analysis of the factors influencing the global citizenship showed that volunteer experience, education level, and experience of lifelong education were significant factors. Fourth, as a result of the analysis of influential factors by sub-factors of global citizenship, the significant factors influencing social responsibility were lifelong education experience, interpersonal trust, and age. And the significant factors influencing global competency were volunteer participation and education level. The significant factors influencing global citizen participation were identified as volunteer participation, education level, overseas visit experience, and institutional trust.
