선교적 교회의 내적 동력으로서의 공동체성

국문 초록

본 논문은 공동체성이 상실된 오늘의 교회 현실을 분석하고 교회의 본질을 추구하는 선교적 교회가 어떤 공동체를 지향하며 어떻게 그리스도 안에서 공동체적 삶을 체험하고 누릴 수 있는지를 연구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 오늘날 근대주의와 자본주의의 영향 아래에 있는 교회는 점차 공동체성을 잃어가고 있다. 그러나 선교적 교회는 근본적으로 공동체를 중시하며, 구성원들이 공동체성을 경험한 만큼 선교적일 수 있다. 사회과학 분야에서는 공동체를 규정하는 대표적인 요소로 일반적으로는 동질성, 정서적 유대관계, 지역성을 꼽는다. 반면에 신학적인 관점에서 보면 공동체는 제도적인 차원 곧 신앙, 성례전, 직무의 차원에서 이해되기도 하고 집단 내부에서 이루어지는 삶의 차원에서 이해되기도 한다. 진정한 신앙공동체를 이루기 위해서는 이 두 가지가 모두 필요하지만 한국교회의 현실에서는 내적인 삶의 요소가 더 중요하다. 필자는 선교적 교회의 공동체성 함양을 위해서 몇 가지 현실적인 방안들을 제안하였다. 첫째는 신앙의 공동체성을 회복하는 것이다. 이는 구성원들이 신앙에 기초한 동일한 가치와 비전을 가지는 것을 의미한다. 이를 위해서는 설교와 제자훈련 등 다양한 수단을 통해서 신앙의 공동체성에 관해서 분명하게 가르쳐야 한다. 둘째로는 선교적 교회의 정체성을 뚜렷하게 드러내는 실천적 과정을 통해서 공동체를 육성하는 것이다. 교회 조직 안에서 이루어지는 다양한 신앙의 과정들 곧 세례, 성만찬, 예배, 훈련, 교제, 증언 등은 새로운 삶의 방식에 대한 이런 공동의 인식 아래에서만 의미를 가질 수 있다. 셋째로 필자는 신자들 사이의 공동체성을 함양하기 위한 코이노니아의 방안을 제시하였다. (1) 선교적 공동체 안에서 신자들은 서로를 진정한 형제자매로 생각해야 한다. (2) 식탁 교제, 상호 견책과 용서는 하나님의 가족공동체 안에서 구체적으로 공동체 의식을 높이는 방법이 된다. (3) 공허한 말보다는 서로를 돌보고 섬기는 실제적인 봉사가 요구된다. (4) 교회 안에 상호부조를 실천하는 구체적인 구조가 마련되어야 한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the reality of today’s church where the community is collapsed and to study what kind of community the missional church pursuing the essence of the church is and how to experience and enjoy the community life in Jesus Christ. Today, under the influence of modernism and capitalism, the church is gradually losing community spirit. However, the missional church is fundamentally focused on the community, and it can be as missional as the members have experienced communality. In the field of social sciences, necessary elements that define the community generally include homogeneity, emotional ties, and locality. On the other hand, from a theological point of view, the community is understood in terms of institutional dimension, that is, in the level of faith, sacrament, and office, and also in the level of life within the group. Whereas we need both of these to be true the community of faith, the element of inner life is more important in the reality of the Korean church. I have suggested several practical ways to cultivate communality in the missional church. Firstly, we must restore the community of faith. It means that members have the same values and visions based on faith. To do this, we must clearly teach what the community of faith is through various means such as preaching and discipleship training. Secondly, we must foster communality through practical processes that clearly demonstrate the identity of the missional church. The processes of faith in the church organization−baptism, the Lord’s Supper, worship, training, fellowship, and testimony−can only be meaningful under this communal understanding of the new way of life. Lastly, I have presented several plan of koinonia to cultivate communality among believers: (1) In a missional community, believers should consider each other a true brother or sister; (2) table fellowship, mutual reprimand, and mutual forgiveness are ways to increase communality specifically in God’s households; (3) actually, it is necessary to serve and care for each other rather than empty words; and (4) there must be concrete structures in the church to practice mutual assistance.
