영문 초록

Animals containing human cells, tissues or genetic material in their bodies, so called part-human animals, will play an important role in medical research. Scientists use the part-human animal as better research models to test new drugs and therapies. Despite of a general lack of knowledge of the development of science in this area and understanding of the potential consequences of part-human animals, a half of the public expresses its support for part-human animal research. However, the public needs both careful consideration and discussion in relation to the various ethical and legal questions arising from the creation of human-animal mixtures. In this context, a sound understanding of the scientific procedures used for the creation of part-human animals and the specific issues involved in its research are a necessary prerequisite for the determination of the relevant ethical and legal framework.
