중학생의 정서조절능력이 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 중학생의 정서조절능력, 공격성, 스마트폰 중독의 관계를 살펴보고 정서조절능력과 스마트폰 중독의 관계에 대한 공격성의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 서울, 경기 및 충청 지역에 거주하는 중학생 총 803명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 살펴보았다. 분석결과를 살펴보면, 정서조절능력은 공격성의 하위변인인 외현적 공격성, 관계적 공격성, 스마트폰 중독과 모두 부적 상관, 공격성의 하위변인인 외현적 공격성, 관계적 공격성은 각각 스마트폰 중독과 정적 상관을 나타냈다. 이렇듯 변인들 간에 유의미한 상관을 나타내며 이론적 배경을 통한 연구모형의 적합도 지수가 양호하였다. 또한 회귀분석 결과 정서조절능력은 스마트폰 중독에 유의미한 부적 영향을 공격성의 하위변인인 외현적 공격성, 관계적 공격성은 각각 스마트폰 중독에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 구조방정식 검증 결과 공격성의 하위변인인 외현적 공격성과 스마트폰 중독의 경로가 통계적으로 유의미하지 않은 것으로 나타나며, 정서조절능력과 스마트폰 중독의 관계에서 공격성의 하위변인인 관계적 공격성만이 매개효과를 나타내는 것으로 확인되었다. 남·녀 성별에 따른 연구모형의 타당성을 알아보기 위해 다집단 분석을 실시한 결과, 정서조절능력이 공격성의 하위변인인 외현적 공격성에 미치는 영향에서만 남학생이 여학생보다 크게 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과들을 통하여 본 연구의 의의를 논하였으며, 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 정리하여 마무리 하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to investigate the relationships of middle school students emotion regulation ability, aggression, and smart phone addiction and to examine the mediating effect of aggression on the relation between emotion regulation ability and smart phone addiction. For this purpose, 803 middle school students in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungcheong area completed. The results of this study were as follows: first, emotion regulation ability showed negative correlation with overt aggression and relational aggression, which were the subtypes of aggression, and with smart phone addiction. Also, overt aggression and relational aggression presented positive correlation with smart phone addiction. Second, emotion regulation ability had significantly negative effect on smart phone addiction while each of overt aggression and relational aggression had significantly positive effect on smart phone addiction. Third, the mediating effect of overt aggression was not significant when the emotion regulation ability s mediated aggression to examine the effect on smart phone addiction; yet, the mediating effect of relational aggression was found significant. The effect of emotion regulation ability of the male students presented significant difference on overt aggression compared with the female ones; however, the other paths did not show any significant differences. Based on the findings, the emotion regulation ability s mediated aggression to examine the effect on smart phone addiction: the mediating effect of relational aggression was found significant.
