국문 초록

원주 의료기기산업 혁신클러스터의 실태분석 결과 산업발전수준은 유아기 수준에 있는 단계이지만 혁신클러스터 조성이 불과 3-4년 정도의 짧은 시간인 점을 감안할 때 앞으로의 발전 전망은 상당히 클 것으로 기대된다. 정부와 원주시의 재정적 지원 및 혜택과 혁신클러스터로서 지역특화전략산업으로 지정되면서 사업환경이나 수도권과의 지역적 입지조건, 대학과의 산학협력 구축, 인력개발자원 풍부 또한 2004년 6월 정부로부터 의료기기산업의 ‘혁신클러스터 시범단지’로 지정돼 국내 유일의 실리콘밸리로 부상하고 있다. 아울러 인력양성 및 연구개발, 신기술축적, 정부ㆍ지방의 재정적지원 측면에서 내ㆍ외부적 혁신환경은 상당히 우수한 편이라고 할 수 있다. 중소기업의 발전을 획기적으로 이루기 위해서는 기업내부의 부족한 기술개발 기반을 확충하기위한 외부와의 협력, 특히 대학과의 산학협력 구축이 필요한데 원주 의료기기산업은 거의 모든 기업이 중소기업의 부족한 기술 및 인력, 연구시설ㆍ기자재 확보의 문제점을 대학의 우수 지식이나 기술, 인력 연구기자재 등을 활용하여 해결하고자 하는 동기부여로 산학협력을 운영하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 원주 의료기기산업 혁신클러스터의 구체적 발전을 위한 방안 및 앞으로의 과제로는 집적강화, 연구개발 역량강화,네트워크활동 강화, 정부ㆍ지방의 재정적 지원 확대, 지속적ㆍ체계적ㆍ조직적인 산학협력 시스템 운영 등이 무엇보다 강화되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

As a result of investigating the actual conditions of the Innovative Cluster of Wonju Medical Instruments Industry, the industry development level was still at the infant stage. However, in view of the fact it has been formed only for 3 to 4 years, prospects for development is quite bright. As being appointed as the specialized and strategic industry region which is the innovative cluster with financial supports and benefits from the government and Wonju-si,it was appointed as 　Model Complexof Innovative Cluster　 about medical instruments industry in the basis of business environment, location advantage closed to the metropolitan area, building industry-academic cooperation, and rich human resources. Since then, it has emerged as the No. 1 Silicon Valley in the country. In addition, it can be said that internal and external innovation environment of Innovative Cluster of Wonju Medical Instruments Industry is pretty excellent in terms of human power development, R&D, new technology accumulation, financial supports from central and local governments. Cooperation with external partners, especially industry-academic cooperation, is needed to promote epoch-making growth of small and medium enterprises because it can expand a technology development base which is likely to be short in a small company. Almost every company of Wonju Medical Instruments Industry was found to have industry-academic cooperation by motivation for solving its problems such as insufficient technology, human power, research facilities, and equipment by utilizing outstanding knowledge, technology, or human resources in a university. For constant and specialized development, Wonju Medical Instruments Industry should reinforce integration, R&D capacity, networking, financial supports from central and local governments, and the industry-academic cooperation system which is systematic and continuous, before everything else.
