국문 초록

본 연구에서는 우리나라 고부담 시험 출제 상황에서 난이도 예측 및 조정에 활용될 수 있는 원점수 분포 예측 방안을 살펴보았다. 본 연구에서는 2모수 문항반응모형을 이용한 원점수 분포 예측 방법을 논의하고 기존의 1모수 문항반응모형과의 비교․분석을 통해 2모수 문항반응모형을 활용한 원점수 분포 예측의 이점을 살펴보았으며, 모의실험을 통해두 모형 간 예측력의 차이를 검증하였다. 또한, 원점수 분포 예측력을 높이기 위한 검사조건을 검사 길이, 난이도 및 변별도 구성과 수험생 능력 분포 등의 측면에서 탐색해 보았다. 모의실험 결과 문항 수가 많을수록, 변별도의 평균이 1.0인 경우보다 0.5일 때 원점 수 분포 예측력이 높아지는 것으로 나타났으며, 수험생들이 정규분포이거나 부적 또는 정적 편포를 이룰 경우에는 원점수 분포의 예측력에 큰 차이가 없었으나, 이봉 분포를 이룰 경우에는 원점수 분포의 예측력이 다소 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다

영문 초록

This study investigated a method to predict raw score distributions for high-stakes tests based on the two-parameter Item Response Model (IRM). For predicting raw score distributions, the two-parameter IRM was compared with the one-parameter IRM, and the two-parameter IRM s benefits were discussed. Using a simulation studies, the present study compared the performances of the two types of IRMs in estimating raw score distributions, and then explored the influence of test conditions (e.g., test length, item difficulty, item discrimination, and students’ ability distribution) to predict more accurate raw score distributions. The simulation results support that the prediction of raw score distribution through the two-parameter IRM tends to be more accurate when the number of items increases and item discrimination decreases. It is also found that when the shape of students’ distribution is normal or skewed, the prediction accuracy is more robust, but when it is bimodal, it is not stable.
