국문 초록

이 연구는 동학년 중심의 체육수업 실천공동체에 참여하는 교사들의 수업과 교사 조직, 학생들의 변화를 기술하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 통해 초등학교에서의 체육수업 정상화를 위해 노력하고 있는 현장 연구자들과 교육행정가들에게 도움을 주고자 하였다. 이를 위해 질적 사례연구방법을 채택하여 면담과 관찰, 문서자료 등을 통해 실천공동체가 학교 체육에 어떤 변화를 일으키는지 탐색하였다. 그 결과 동학년 중심 체육수업 실천공동체로 인해 교사들의 수업은 방향성을 갖추고 시행착오가 줄어들었으며, 교사들은 교육의 주체로 거듭나게 되었으며, 동학년 조직의 연구 기능이 강화되었다. 또한 이러한 체육수업에 참여한 학생들은 다양한 체육수업에 참여하게 되었으며, 체육수업 시간을 ‘노는 시간’이 아닌 ‘배우는 시간’으로 인식하게 되었다. 이러한 결과는 동학년 중심의 실천공동체가 초등학교에서의 체육수업을 정상화하기 위한 한 가지 대안이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study was to describe the changes of class and growth process of the teachers participating in a community of practice in physical education. It also explored the changes of the students who have instructed by the teachers. Through this study, we aimed to provide useful messages to researchers and administrators in educational field, who have been making efforts for normalization of physical education in elementary schools. To achieve the goal, interviews, observations, and literature review were utilized within qualitative approach to explore how the community of practice has affected on physical education in the schools. As results, it was found that the teachers’ classes obtained better direction and reduced mistakes by having community of practice in physical education with the same-grade students. Also, the teachers repositioned their status as a main agent in the education and their research function over the same-grade group was reinforced. In addition, students in the community could participate in the various physical education classes, and considered physical education not ‘playing time,’ but ‘educational time.’ These results imply that community of practice in physical education with the same-grade students could be an alternative for normalization of physical education in elementary schools.
