홀리스틱 인성교육: 되찾아야 할 인간의 가치로서의 진․선․미․성

국문 초록

이 연구는 최근 시행에 들어간 인성교육진흥법에 제시된 인성과 인성교육의 의미를 분석하여 학교교육에서의 인성교육이 어떻게 이루어져야 하는가를 탐색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 인성교육진흥법과 관련된 선행 연구물들이 많지만, 정작 인성교육진흥법을 인성의 결여나 왜곡이 낳은 문제점을 해결하기 위한, 인성교육 본래의 의미를 되살리는 방법으로 접근하는 데는 미흡하게 보였다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 인성교육진흥법과 인성교육 본연의 가치를 되찾아 학교에서의 인성교육이 어떻게 이루어져야 하는가를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해서 우선 인성교육진흥법의 출현배경과 주요내용을 살펴보았다. 구체적으로 인성교육진흥법에서의 인성 및 인성교육과 본래 인성 및 인성교육의 의미는 무엇인지 비교하여 보았다. 인성 및 인성교육의 의미는 철학적 관점, 심리학적 관점, 최근의 관점 측면에서 살펴보았다. 다음 단계로 그에 따라 운영해야 할 학교에서의 인성교육이 무엇을 의미하는지 살펴보았다. 그리고 앞으로 학교에서의 인성교육이 어떤 방향으로 나아가야 하는지를 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 나온 결론은 학교에서의 인성교육은 궁극적으로 되찾아야 할 인간 가치들인 진․선․미․성 중심의 홀리스틱 인성교육으로 나아가야 할 필요가 있다는 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning of character and character education in Character Education Promotion Law (CEPL) presented recently entered the force and to explore how the character education in schools should be made. Although many previous studies regarding CEPL have been made, they seem to be insufficient as a way of reviving the original meaning of character education in order to solve the problems caused from the lack of character or character distortion. Therefore, by recovering the original value of the character education and the CEPL, we have explored how the character education in schools should be made. To achieve this purpose, first of all we have compared, through the emergence background and main contents of the CEPL, what is character and character education in the CEPL with what is the meaning of the original character and character education. The meaning of the character and character education has been investigated at various aspects such as philosophical point of view, the psychological point of view and the recent trend of point of view. For the next step, we have investigated what is meant by the character education in the school accordingly to be operated and the future direction of character education in schools. The conclusion through the present studies is that we need to go forth as a truth·beauty·goodness·spirituality-centered holistic character education of human values which are ultimately to look back to character education in schools.
