This study examines project-based models for developing an child art education program. At first, this study presents characteristics and concrete framworks of project-based lesson models in art program for children. Specially in department of art education for children, we need a new lesson model to train student to be a prefessionalist in art education. To be a specialist in art education need ability to develop a art program, to write why they teach art for children and to teach artistic skill. The purpose of this study is to develop of teaching program in art education in order to convert indivisualized art education centering of children. The model was developed based on the project concept. This collaborative teaching strategy may consequently improve the quality of instruction and learning. Especially, the interactions take place more effectively in the project-based learning activities by formulating an efficient communication system for group interaction. At the beginning stage, we reviewed curriculum in department of art education for children, and described in brief a step-by-step approach which provides the students in a sequence of exercises with the necessary prerequisites for tackling the complex tasks of project work. The results were as follows : 1. The project approach was more effective in increasing student’s level of occupational and academic interests for art education by playing a role as a art teacher. 2. The students carried out their projects with genuine enthusiasm and a high level of motivation. Throughout the process, learners work on their tasks mostly by themselves with a little assistance of their teacher. 3. Project work also enhanced the students cooperation and responsibility. Through this experience, the students found importance of developing art program and course which really enjoyable and profitable for them. Consequently, project work helps advanced planning of art program build up their practical teaching skills.
