근대 설화집의 여성 형상화 연구

국문 초록

본고는 1920년대에서 30년대 초 출간된 정인섭의 온돌야화, 손진태의 조선민담집(조선민족설화의 연구), 심의린의 조선동화대집을 대상으로, 이들 자료집에 나타난 여성 형상화를 연구한다. 이 자료집들은 근대적 교육을 받은 남성이 비슷한 시기에 편찬했다는 점과, 구술되어오던 옛이야기를 전한다는 편찬 의도를 가진다는 점에서 유사하다. 본고는 이들 설화집의 기술적 특성이 가장 잘 드러날 수 있는 표현 층위에 대해 분석하고자 한다. “내용”은 구술과 기술을 넘나들면서 많이 변화하 지 않는 층위이지만 “표현”은 매체의 이동에 민감하게 반응하는 층위이다. 본고는 특히 초점화와 시각의 문제를 중심으로 살펴보면서 각 설화집 여성 형상화(어머니, 선녀, 원귀의 형상화)에 내재한 충동이 1) 창조적 전달자 2) 남성적 전달자 3) 전통적 전달자로서 담론적 작가가 가지게 되는 의식적․무의식적 지향에서 파생된 것으로 정리하였다. 이는 본고가 근대 설화집을 여성/남성, 기술/구술의 관점에서 읽은 결과물이다. 본 연구는 설화집의 생산과 소비를 둘러싼 근대의 논리가 젠더적, 매체적, 대중적 관점에서 다양하면서도 다층적으로 구성될 수 있다고 본다.

영문 초록

This article investigats the characteristics of women’s figuration focusing on Jeong In-seop’s Ondolyahwa[溫突夜話] , Son Jintae’s The collection of Chosun Folk Tales[朝鮮民譚集](Ethnic Folktale in Korea[韓國民族說話의硏究] ), Sim Eui-Rin’s The Collection of Chosun Fairy Tales([朝鮮童話大集] ) which were published from 1920’s to the early 30’s. These collections were written by men who had modern educations and published at the similar time. Also, they had something in common with the intention of compilation. This paper analyzes the level of expressions because the level can reveal literal characteristics. The level of contents would not transform whether they are written or spoken but the level of expressions are sensitively responded according to the media. This article examines the distinctive impulses of the collections which were based on the women’s figurations(the figurations of mother, Taoist fairy and revengeful spirit of a women) concentrating on the focalizations and perspectives. The impulses are relative to three roles who the authors were token in consciously or unconsciously 1) creative transmitter 1) male transmitter 3) traditional transmitter. This results are inferred from the point of view of female/male, literal/oral to read modern folk tale collections. I consider that the modern logics would be composed of gender, media, and the public in different dimensions and multiple layers.
