국문 초록

이 글은 생태 위기를 극복하기 위해서 필수적인 생태적 세계관의 정립을 위한 신학적 제언이다. 현대의 생태 위기는 근대 이후 서구에서 등장한 기계적 세계관에서 비롯된 자연에 대한 인간중심주의와 깊은 관련이 있다. 이 인간중심주의는 인간과 자연에 대한 이원론적 시각과 인간에 대한 자연의 유용성만을 생각하는 지나친 도구적 관점을 특징으로 들 수 있다. 이러한 특징의 인간중심주의를 극복하려면 인간과 자연의 통합적 시각과 자연의 본래적 가치를 인식하는 자연관, 곧 생태적 세계관의 정립이 필요하다. 필자는 그리스도교 신학의 성령론의 반성과 고찰을 시작으로 생태적 세계관의 정립을 시도한다. 이를 위해, 성경과 기존의 신학 전통을 바탕으로, 인간만이 아니라 창조 전체와 성령의 내밀한 관계를 부각함으로써 성령에 기초한 인간과 자연의 통합적 관점과 자연의 본질적 가치를 제시한다. 이러한 성령론적 자연관은 생태적 세계관의 정립을 뒷받침한다. 또한 이렇게 제안된 성령론적 자연관을 현대의 자연과학이 제시하는 세계상과 사회 정의라는 맥락에서 살펴봄으로써, 오늘날의 현실세계에서도 이 자연관이 적절하고 의미가 있음이 드러난다.

영문 초록

This essay is a theological endeavor to establish an ecological world view, which is considered to be essential in order to overcome the ecological crisis today. The ecological crisis in our age is deeply related to anthropocentrism toward nature derived largely from the mechanistic world view. This anthropocentrism is characterized by the dualistic perspective on humanity and nature and an excessively instrumental view of nature for the usefulness of humans. We need an alternative view of nature, which integrates humans and nature and recognizes the intrinsic value of nature, that is, an ecological world view, so that we may negotiate this anthropocentric attitude toward nature. The author seeks to establish an ecological world view, by reflecting on and appropriating the Christian pneumatology. For this, on the basis of the Scripture and the theological tradition and by stressing the intimate connection of the Holy Spirit with the whole creation as well as with humanity, the author presents an integrated perspective on humans and nature and the intrinsic value of nature based on the Holy Spirit. This pneumatological view of nature supports an ecological world view. The pneumatological view of nature presented in this way is placed in the context of the modern scientific world view and social justice so that its relevance and significance in the real world today may be discovered.
