노천명 시에 나타난 사슴, 고독, 장미의 상징성

국문 초록

본고에서는 노천명 시인의 ‘사슴’과 ‘장미’, 그리고 ‘고독’을 그의 배경 언어와 시관(詩觀)에 연결시켜 작가 자신만이 갖는 특유한 시적 의식 세계를 추적하고 작가의 독특한 상징체계를 밝히고자 한다. 이러한 시도는 그의 시어로 드러난 상징의 체계를 밝힘과 어울러 작가의 시작(詩作)심리 세계를 추적하기 위하여 필연적으로 정신분석학적 비평을 차용할 것이다. 그것은 가능한 한 문학작품의 의의를 증대시킬 수 있는 근거를 마련하기 위함이며, 작자의 창작과정 안에서 작가정신의 밑바탕에는 어떠한 움직임이 있는가를 발견하기 위함이다. 그의 시를 이해하는 제일의 코드는 상실로 인한 슬픔과 불안, 그리고 안정에 대한 희구다. 그의 시에 그리움과 꿈의 소재이자 돌아가야 할 갈망의 장소로 자주 등장하는 고향은 ‘원형회귀’를 지향하는 그의 원천적 욕구를 잘 입증해 준다. 그에게 고향은 단순한 지리적 장소만이 아니다. 잃어버린 아버지와 연인이 기다리는, 친일과 부역의 죄의식에서 벗어난 피안으로 복합적 이상향이다. ‘사슴’, ‘고귀함’, ‘청아함’, ‘순결함’ 등의 표상은 가장 여성 취향에 맞는 여성선호의 동물이므로 초자아가 유지하려는 윤리적 도덕적 기준에도 들어맞고, 자아이상을 만족시키는 대상으로써도 가장 적합하다. 더구나 초자아는 사슴의 일반적 이미지에 만족하고 본능은 또 남성상징으로서의 사슴에 대상적 만족을 얻을 수 있다. 아직 사회적으로 근대적 삶을 살아야 했던 신여성은 의식 있는 작가로서의 드러난 삶과, 세상과 불협하면서 결핍으로 고독해야 했던 자신의 정체성을 양자가 조화를 이룬 객관적상관물로서 사슴을 내세워 노래할 수밖에 없었다.

영문 초록

I investigated the poet’s special world by researching ‘deer’, ‘rose’, and ‘loneliness’in Rho Chun-myung’s poem. I also aimed to write her unique symbol system. For this research, I employed psychological analysis criticism. Finally, I tried to find her psychological factors which affect her poem. She lived a delicate and moderate life. However, she confined herself in the loneliness of narcissism by blocking herself from her outer world. Therefore, she came to confuse over her identity of sex and suffered from loneliness of deficiency. Consequently, it was very difficult for her to get along with other people. on the other hand, she had super consciousness to overcome loneliness. I got to know that her poem reveals naturally her severe mental process to find her real existence in her lives.. She enjoys the word ‘deer’ and is called ‘the poet of deer’by people at that time. I analyzed why she loved and clinged to the word‘deer’ so much. So I could enjoy reading her poem by sharing her own life and consciousness with me. And I got to know why she always uses the expression ‘ break off’writing ‘deer’ and’ rose’at the same time. She was satisfied with her desire by using the word ‘deer’And I think she expresses her defense mechanism through the word ‘rose’Through the animal ‘deer’which women like and symbol of‘ preciousness’, ‘pureness’ she tried to express super-ego She is a neo-feministic poet who had to live socially modern life at that time. So I can say she is a poet whose identity harmonized with her own super ego even though she could not get along with the world and was so lonely.
