인권을 존중받은 경험과 청소년의 학교폭력 주변인역할 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 학교폭력에서 다수를 차지하는 방관자, 방어자, 동조자에 초점을 맞추어 환경체계로부터 인권을 존중 받은 경험과 자아존중감 그리고 학교폭력 주변인 역할의 관계를 유기적으로 규명하기 위해 설계되었다. 조사대상은 초등 5, 6학년 및 중학생 1,2,3학년을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 1,215부가 최종분석에 사용되었다. 주요 연구결과로는 첫째, 남자집단이 여자집단에 비해 동조자 역할이 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 초등학생 집단이 중학생 집단에 비해 방어자 역할이, 중학생 집단이 초등학생 집단에 비해 방관자 및 동조자 역할이 유의하게 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 인권을 존중받은 경험은 자아존중감 및 학교폭력 주변인 역할 하위변수 각각에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자아존중감은 인권을 존중 받은 경험과 학교폭력 주변인 역할 각각에서 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과에 따른 논의를 통해 학교폭력 주변인 역할에 대한 인권존중 및 자아존중감을 향상시키기 위한 사회복지적 제언이 이루어졌다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on major bystanders role in school violence - outsiders, defenders, and followers - and systematically clarifies the connection between youths' experience of being respected from the surrounding system and their self-esteem. A survey was conducted among elementary school students in their 5th and 6th grades and middle school students in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. 1,215 copies of the questionnaire in total were used in the final analysis. Major findings are as follows: First, in the role of bystanders according to gender and level of school, male group played the role of sympathizers at a significantly higher rate than female group. Elementary school student group played the role of defenders at a significantly higher rate, and middle school student group played the role of sympathizers and onlookers at a significantly higher rate than elementary school student group. Second, it turned out that experience of respect for one's human rights has significant effect on self-esteem and sub variables of types of school violence involvement; third, it turned out that self-esteem has mediation effects on experience of respect for one's human rights and types of school violence involvement. Based on the findings above, suggestions in terms of social welfare are presented to improve respect for human rights and self-esteem in the context of different types of school violence involvement.
