해운기업의 지속가능 환경활동에 관한 실증 연구

국문 초록

오늘날 해운기업들은 선박을 운항함으로써 발생하는 폐기물, 오폐수 그리고 연료를 소모함으로써 발생하는 CO₂, NOx 등에 따른 해양오염, 대기오염에 따른 환경을 보호하기 위한 다 양환 환경활동을 수행하고 있다. 이러한 활동은 글로벌 해운기업의 경영이념으로 환경 친화 적 경영을 표방하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 해운기업의 지속가능한 환경활동이 고객만 족과 고객충성도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가를 실증적으로 연구분석하였다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 해운기업의 지속가능 환경활동에 대한 시사점을 제안하였다. 특히 해운기업은 선박으로부터 배출되는 오염물질을 저감시키고자 하는 환경활동 노력을 꾸준히 해야 하며, 이러 한 활동이 고객의 만족도 및 충성도에도 영향을 끼쳤다. 따라서 해운기업이 지속가능한 경영활동을 수행함에 있어, 환경활동은 오늘날 중요한 해운기업의 경영전략임을 알 수 있다.

영문 초록

Since the concept of sustainability emerged as a new business paradigm, sustainable management has become one of the main topics among academic researchers and business practitioners. It is widely agreed that the supply chain capabilities can play a pivotal role in meeting customers’ needs better through well-balanced integration of green marketing and eco-friendly supply chain management. As the concept of Sustainable Environmental Practices (SEP) has an increasingly important implication for corporate management, much attention has been paid to its impact on customer relationship. There exists many studies mainly concentrating on the environment aspect of corporate activities, but there have been few efforts to understand the comprehensive insight into the impact of sustainable management on customer relationship. In an attempt to fill this gap, this paper empirically investigates the influence of SEP on customer satisfaction (CS) and customer loyalty (CL). Based on a survey of South Korea shippers, the findings indicate that environmental aspects of corporate environmental management play a significant role in enhancing CS and the enhanced CS positively affects CL. The results highlight several implications for shipping practitioners to consider when establishing the strategy for effective sustainable management to enhance CS and CL.
