통합적 접근에 의한 유아 다문화이해교육 프로그램의 적용효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 통합적 접근에 의한 유아 다문화이해교육 프로그램을 만5세 유아들에게 적용해 봄으로서 유아의 다문화인식과 언어, 태도변화에 어떠한 효과가 있는지 검증하고자 한다. 연구대상은 경기도 G시에 소재한 2개 유치원의 만 5세 유아 105명으로 집단별 35명씩이다. 연구절차는 A유치원의 2개 학급을 실험집단과 통제집단으로, B유치원 1개 학급을 비교집단으로 선정하여 실험집단에서는 본 연구자가 개발한 프로그램을, 통제집단은 누리과정을, 비교집단은 외국강사초빙 교육프로그램을 각 18주 동안 1주 3회50분씩 실시하였다. 자료처리는 양적분석방법으로 공분산분석을 실시하였고 집단 간 차이를 검증하기 위해 Scheffe와 대비검증(Contrast test) 및 T-test를 실시하였다. 질적 분석방법으로는 개발된 프로그램을 실시하는 과정에서 나타난 유아의 언어와 태도변화를 다문화적 관점에서 세단계로 구분하여 저널형식으로 범주화하여 해석하였다. 연구결과로 양적분석결과, 개발된 프로그램을 실행한 실험집단이 통제집단, 비교집단보다 다문화이해인식(F=9.05, p<.001)과 다문화총점에서(F=5.87, p<.01)유의미한 차이가 있음으로 나타났다. 질적 분석결과, 유아가 프로그램 실행과정에서 보이는 언어표현내용에서 외모, 인종, 성, 가족구성, 사회계층, 피부색에 대한 편견이 감소하고 외모, 인종, 성, 피부색에서 다문화인식이 높게 나타났다. 그러므로 개발된 유아다문화이해교육 프로그램은 다문화사회 상황에서 유아들의 다문화인식과 인성을 함양하여 다문화수용성을 높이는데 효과가 있으며 유아교육현장에 활용이 적합하여 유아교사들에게 다문화교육의 어려움을 지원할 수 있다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to verify if there is any effect to child’s multicultural cognition, linguistic change and that of attitude, by applying children multicultural understanding education program to five-year-old children. The subjects are the children from 2 kindergartens placed in G city, Gyeonggi-do. Children out of two classes from A kindergarten and one class from B, are divided to 3 groups, 35 children each. The researcher applied developed program to experimental group, general education program to control group, and invited foreign lecturer’s educational program to comparative group for 18 weeks. Analysis of covariance(ancova) was conducted as quantitative analysis for processing data. And Scheffe, Contrast test and T-test were conducted to verify the difference between the groups. For qualitative analysis, children’s linguistic change and that of attitude, appeared in the process of conducting the developed program, were divided into 3 steps in the multicultural point of view. And they were interpreted by categorizing as a journal form. As a result of quantitative analysis, comparative group has meaningful difference in the multicultural understanding cognition and multicultural total score, compared to experimental group and control group. As a result of qualitative analysis, in the children’s language expression content appeared in the process of the program, the prejudice of appearance, race, sex, family composition, social stratum, and skin color decreased. And it was appeared that multicultural cognition of appearance, race, sex, and skin color was high. Thus, this developed program enhances the acceptance of multiculture by building children’s multicultural cognitions and characters in multicultural situation. So this program is available for children education field and it will help the teachers who have difficulty in multicultural teaching.
