유아교육기관에서 관찰한 유아영재 특성 및 유아교사 인식 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아교육기관 일과에서 나타나는 유아영재의 특성을 발견하고 유아교사들의 유아영재에 대한 특성 인식 및 지도의 어려움에 대해 조사하는 것이다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아영재들은 일반 유아보다 뛰어난 학습능력과 일반화 능력, 빠른 언어습득과 뛰어난 어휘력, 뛰어난 주의집중력과 몰입, 관심 분야에 대한 풍부한 지식, 공상에 빠지는 모습을 보였다. 둘째, 또래와의 관계에서 유아영재들은 처음에는 또래관계에서 어려움을 겪었으나 차츰 적응해나가는 모습을 보여주었다. 이슈가 되는 소재들을 이용하여 놀이를 창안하여 또래 친구들을 즐겁게 하는 동시에 또래 친구들에게 많은 관심을 받았다. 그럼에도 불구하고 유아영재들은 자신과 지적으로 대화가 가능한 친구들과 돈독한 관계를 맺으며 또래보다는 어른들을 더 선호하는 경향이 두드러졌다. 셋째, 교사들은 유아영재의 우수한 지적 특성들을 어느 정도 인식하고 있었으며, 이러한 특성에 대해 매우 놀라워하였다. 자신들이 영재아를 지도하는 것에 대해 자랑스러워하였고 유아영재 지도에 대해 관심이 많았으나 영재교육에 대한 이해 부족으로 어려움을 호소하고 있었다. 교사들은 영재아동과 일반아동이 함께 있는 교실에서 수업을 효과적으로 운영하는 방법을 배우기를 원하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to observe gifted children in early childhood institute, finding actual characteristics of gifted children and to investigate of teachers' perception on gifted children education. The results of this study were as follows: First, gifted children were fast learners and had good memory than non-gifted children. Also, gifted children showed excellent concentration ability, profound knowledge about the subject interested and they enjoyed daydream. Second, gifted children had a hard time to make relationship in their peer groups at first, but they showed to be adapted themselves. Also they were good at making new games and making their friends fun. They cooperated with teachers and friends well. Nevertheless, gifted children made friends with who had similar intellectual level. And they preferred adults to peer groups. Third, teachers were surprised at outstanding characteristics of gifted children and they were proud of themselves in teaching gifted children. On the other hand, teachers were concerned about their education but they appealed difficulty to be worried about lack of understanding gifted children education. They wanted to know how to manage the class including gifted children and non-gifted children efficiently.
