예비 유아교사가 인식하는 유아교사 전문성 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 예비 유아교사들의 유아교사 전문성에 대한 인식을 탐색하여, 예비교사들의 전문성 향상 방안을 모색하고 질 높은 예비 유아교사를 확보할 수 있는 대안을 살펴보고자 실시되었다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 유아교육과 재학생 3학년 12명과 4학년 12명이 본 연구에 참여하였다. 참여자들을 학년별로 6명씩 나누어, 총 4개 집단을 대상으로 집단면접을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 예비 유아교사들은 유아교사 전문성을 훌륭한 유아교사가 되기 위한 요소, 유아교사의 역할을 잘 수행하는 능력, 혹은 유아교사만의 고유한 직업적 능력 등으로 인식하고 있었다. 유아교사의 전문성을 구성하는 요인으로는 유아에 대한 존중과 지식, 누리과정을 포함한 유아교육과정에 대한 지식과 실행능력, 다양한 교과에 대한 기초지식이 3학년과 4학년에서 공통적으로 나타났다. 하지만 유아교사의 전문성의 구성요인으로서 학부모와의 협력은 4학년에서만 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 근거로 하여, 몇 가지 시사점에 대하여 논하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore pre-service early childhood teachers' perception of the professionalism of early childhood teachers. For the purpose of the study, group interviews were conducted with four groups consisting of six pre-service early childhood teachers each. Findings indicated that the participant pre-service teachers perceived the professionalism of early childhood teachers as a component for becoming good early childhood teachers, fulfillment of their duties, or unique and specialized occupational abilities needed only by early childhood teachers. In addition, the components of the professionalism of early childhood teachers were divided into four categories: first, respect for children and knowledge of children's development; second, knowledge about and practical performance of various curricula for early childhood, including the Nuri curriculum; third, fundamental pedagogical content knowledge in various subjects; fourth, cooperation with parents of children. The last perception of professionalism, cooperation with parents of children, appeared only among the senior pre-service early childhood teachers. Based on these findings, several implications were discussed.
