Interaction between Effects of Content and Statistical Representations of Common Item Sets on Equating Accuracy

국문 초록

동등화에 쓰이는 공통문항은 내용과 통계적인 측면에서 전체문항을 대표하는 성격을 지녀야 한다(Kolen & Brennan, 2014). 그러나 실질적으로 특정 내용에 어려운 문항들이 집중될 경우, 공통문항이 내용과 통계적인 대표성을 모두 만족시키기는 어렵다. 기존 연구들은 주로 공통문항의 통계적 대표성에 중점을 두었으며, 내용적 측면과 통계적 측면을 동시에 다룬 연구는 미흡하다. 본 연구는 내용 대표성과 통계 대표성이 동등화 결과에 미치는 영향과 이 두 가지 대표성의 상호작용에 대하여 분석하였다. 공통문항의 내용적 특성은 통계적 대표성 여부에 따라 동등화 결과에 다르게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

A common item set used in test equating should be representative to both content and statistical specifications according to equating literature (Kolen & Brennan, 2014). However, the fully representative common item set will be difficult to obtain in practical situations where difficult items tend to be concentrated in certain content areas. A lot of research has focused on only statistical properties not taking into account both content and statistical characteristics of the common items. This study examined the effect of content and statistical properties of common items on equating accuracy and interaction between the two types of properties of common items using common item non-equivalent groups design with pseudo-test form data. The effect of the content representation on equating accuracy differed by the statistical properties of common items.
