영문 초록

This paper aims at studying themes of Andalusian qaṣīdas, which are considered to depict vividly the Andalusian moslems' experiences in their life and history. For that I extracted three types of themes, which are 'rich nature in Andalusia', 'the Andalusians' nostalgia for their home' and 'the fall of Andalusian Islamic kingdoms', in that these types are distinctive of the area. Qaṣīdas with theme of Andalusian nature are characterized by the richness and splendor of natural environment, and people's pleasure in it. In the first phase, poets describe the picturesque colourful scenes by using visual images. And poets sometimes place the visual images in juxtaposition with olfactory images designed to express their feeling of intimacy with nature. In the last phase where poets are spurred and intoxicated by beautiful scenery, tactual images are applied to represent their feeling of unity with nature. The analysis of qaṣīdas with theme of nostalgia discovers the fact that Andalusian moslems had feeling of some cultural and emotional gap between Andalus and Mashriq(eastern area). In poems such feeling is appeared in two forms: the one is illustrated in Andalusians perplexed by their absence from homeland, and the other is manifested in Andalusian moslems longing for their home, or seeking solace in Mashriq. Qaṣīdas with the third theme. i.e. 'the fall of Islamic kingdoms in Andalus' depict distinctly the tragical history that Andalusian moslems suffered from. Poets have witnessed the disruption and decline of Islamic kingdoms in Andalus as the result of corruption of their reign and party strife among themselves. Viewing the precarious situation in their kingdoms, Andalusian poets expressed their deep apprehension. And finally the fall of their countries has made their verses filled with remorse and feeling of the frailty of life.
