웹기반 영작문수업에서 과정중심영작의 실현과 성취도평가와의 상관관계

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 웹기반 영어 수업에서 과정중심 영작문 수업을 시행하고, 과정중심적 영작문 과제의 참여도와 성취도 평가와의 상관관계를 조사하는 데에 있다. 이를 위하여, 사이버대학교에서 '초급영어작문1'을 수강하는 학습자들에게 세 단계로 이루어진 작문 과업이 주어졌고, 튜터는 내용과 형태에 대하여 통합적인 피드백을 주도록 한다. 학습자들은 튜터의 통합적 피드백에 따라 그들의 작문을 다시 수정하여 3단계에 걸쳐서 쓰게 된다. 상관관계에 있어서는 3가지 작문 과제들 상호간에는 높은 상관관계가 있었으나, 작문과업과 성취도 평가 사이에는 높은 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 하나의 작문 과업을 제외하고는 나머지 2개의 작문 과업은 성취도평가의 결과에 영향을 주지 못한 것으로 나타난다. 본 연구는 과정중심작문과업이웹기반 수업에서학습자들의쓰기과업을도와주고평가할수있는대안적 방법으로 쓰일 수 있음을 보여준다. 이는 학습자들의 표절을 방지할 수 있고, 참여를 유도하며, 간접평가의 한계를 극복할 수 있는 대안으로 보인다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to implement the process-oriented writing in web-based English class, and to examine the correlation between the participation of the writing tasks and the achievement test. For this purpose, the three-step writing tasks were given to the students enrolled in 'English writing' course of a cyber university. The tutor gives feedback on both content and form. Students are supposed to rewrite their writings according to the feedback. Regarding the correlation, there were somewhat high correlation among the three tasks one another, but there were not that high correlation between the tasks and the achievement tests. Except the one task, the writing tasks did not affect the results of the achievement tests. This study suggests that the process-oriented writing tasks can be the alternative way of helping and assessing students' writing practice. The tasks can also avoid students' plagiarism, and encourage their participation.
