영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to light on the prophecy in the Muqaddimah of Ibn Khaldun. Most of researches on the Muqaddimah dealt with ‘al-‘asabiyyahالعصبية ’, ‘sovereigntyالملك ’and ‘Ibn Khaldun’s political philosophy’. But it is also true he devoted on whole chapter of the Muqaddimah to the prophecy. This study will bring an integrated understanding of the Muqaddimah and the social situation in the Maghreb. Ibn Khaldun introduced many cases which are related to the prophecy and astrology. He classified the prophecy from the prophet Muhammad’s to prediction of fortune tellers, Sufi people, astrologers which were very popular in the Maghreb. This study was started from the curiosity why Ibn Khaldun had a lot of interests in the prophecy although he was a deeply religious Muslim scholar.
