국문 초록

이 논문에서 연구자는 성경을 비롯한 가톨릭 교회의 전통사상, 교회문헌, 교황의 회칙에 의거하여 젊은이들을 위한 정의ㆍ평화교육의 내용과 방법을 모색하고자 한다. 그리스도교 사상의 원천인 성경은 정의와 평화를 가르치고 '기쁜 소식'으로서 인류에게 전해온다. 이 세계의 복음화는 언제나 교회의 본래적 사명이며 과제로서 정의ㆍ평화교육의 정향과도 밀접하게 관련되어 있다. 여기에서 우리가 주목해야 할 것은 교회가 현세적인 정의와 평화실현을 위한 인간들의 노력을 인정하면서도 하느님의 정의와 평화를 더 중시한다는 점이다. 가톨릭 교회의 평화교육은 '인간의 해방'을 위한 비판적 교육을 포함하면서도 근본적으로는 '인간의 도덕적 완성'을 중시하는 종교적 관점을 강조한다. 평화교육의 내용은 인간의 존엄성과 인권, 정의, 관용과 종교간의 평화 및 인간과 사회에 대한 봉사로 이루어진다. 평화교육의 방법은 지식위주의 이론적 학습이 아니라 대화와 토론식 수업, 봉사활동등의 형식으로 열린교육의 장을 마련하는 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to explore the contents and methods of justice and peace education for youths in accordance with the Bible, catholic traditional thought, church literature and the papal encyclical letters. The Bible, as the source of Christian ideas, teaches justice and peace with the 'Good News (Evagelium)'. The evangelization of the world has always been the inherent mission and assignment of the church and is closely related with the orientation of justice and peace education. What we need to pay attention at this point is that the church takes God's justice and peace more seriously while acknowledging human efforts to achieve temporal justice and peace. The peace education of the Catholic Church basically puts more emphasis on the religious point of view which values 'moral perfection of human beings', while including critical education for 'the liberation of human beings'. The contents of peace education involve the dignity of a human being, human rights, justice, tolerance, peace among religions and service for mankind and society. The methods for peace education include setting up a system for open education in the format of dialogue and discussion in class and community service activities, trying to avoid theoretical studies with too much emphasis on knowledge.
