미술치료프로그램이 유아의 정서지능과 공격성에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

시대의 변화에 따른 취업모의 증가와 부모의 지나친 교육열과 기대, 요구로 인하여 취원 연령의 하향화와 함께 유아들이 어린이집을 비롯한 교육기관에서 생활하는 시간이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 시대적 변화는 유아기의 심리적ㆍ정서적 문제를 증가시킬 수 있다. 문제행동을 보이는 유아가 어린이집에서 장시간 생활하면서 공격적인 행동을 함으로써 또래 유아들에게도 정서적 건강과 공격성에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있으므로 효과적인 접근 방법을 통한 적절한 조기개입과 예방이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 미술치료와 정서지능ㆍ공격성의 이론을 바탕으로 미술치료 프로그램이 유아기의 건강한 정서적 발달과 대인관계에 중요한 요인이 되는 정서지능과 공격성에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위하여 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 미술치료 프로그램이 유아의 정서지능에 미치는 효과는 어떠한가? 둘째, 미술치료 프로그램이 유아의 공격성에 미치는 효과는 어떠한가? 본 연구의 대상은 A어린이집과 D어린이집에 재원중인 만3세반 유아들로 본 연구의 취지에 부모가 승락한 유아 30명을 대상으로 정서지능 검사와 공격성 검사를 실시하여 A어린이집의 15명은 통제집단, D어린이집의 15명은 실험집단으로 배정하였다. 각 집단의 인원은 남ㆍ여 구분하지 않고 15명씩 동일하게 선정하는 편의표집에 의한 자연적 할당방식의 표집방법을 사용하였다. 본 연구는 2012년 4월 23일부터 2012년 6월 15일까지 8주 동안 매주 1~2회씩 총 12회기에 걸쳐 진행되었으며, 실험집단 유아에게는 미술치료 프로그램을 실시하고, 통제집단 유아에게는 실시하지 않았다. 본 연구에 사용된 측정도구는 김경회(1999)가 제작한 교사용 유아정서지능 평정척도와 이영애(2002)가 제작하고 이재윤(2004)이 수정ㆍ보완한 교사용 유아공격성 평정척도를 사용하였다. 본 연구에 사용한 실험 설계는 SPSS 18.0(ver.)을 이용하여 분석하였고, 미술치료프로그램을 실시하기 전에 두 집단의 유아를 대상으로 동질성 규명을 위해 사전 검사를 실시하였으며, 그 결과 두 집단의 정서지능과 공격성은 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 사후 검사는 미술치료 프로그램이 끝나고 1주일 후에 두 집단의 유아를 대상으로 사전 검사와 같은 방법으로 실시하였다. 또한, 미술치료 프로그램의 효과를 알아 보기 위해 유아의 정서지능과 공격성에 대한 양적분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 자료 분석을 통하여 얻은 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미술치료 프로그램이 유아의 정서지능 향상에 미치는 양적 효과를 알아보기 위해 유아정서지능 평정척도의 사전-사후 점수 변화를 살펴 본 결과, 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 정서지능의 하위 영역을 살펴보면 자기정서의 이용, 감정의 조절 및 충동억제, 대인관계기술은 유아의 정서지능 향상에 기여한 반면, 타인정서의 인식 및 배려는 유아의 정서지능 향상에 기여하였다고 보기 어렵다. 둘째, 미술치료 프로그램이 유아의 공격성 감소에 미치는 양적효과를 알아보기 위해 유아공격성 평정척도의 사전-사후 점수 변화를 살펴 본 결과, 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 공격성의 하위영역을 살펴보면 대인 공격성과 언어적 공격성은 감소한 반면, 대물 공격성은 감소하였다고 보기 어렵다. 이상의 연구 결과는 유아들에게 미술치료 프로그램을 적용할 경우 유아의 정서지능을 증진시킬 수 있고, 공격성을 감소시킬 수 있다는 점을 시사해 준다.

영문 초록

As time changes, working mothers increase, parents'educational fever, expectation and requirement become too high, toddlers become to spend more time in educational institutions including child-care service with lowering tendency of age of entering to the nursery schools. This change may increase toddlers'psychological and emotional problems. As toddlers with problematic behavior spend longtime in child-care service center and behave aggressively and it may affect on other toddlers's psychological health and aggressiveness negatively and it requires proper early intervention and prevention through effective approaches. Accordingly, this study(thesis) sets up the following research questions in order to verify effects of art therapy program on emotional intelligence and aggressiveness which are important factors to emotional development and personal relations in toddler age based on theory of art therapy, emotional intelligence and aggressiveness. First, what does art therapy program have effects on toddler's emotional intelligence? Second, What does art therapy program have effects on toddler's aggressiveness? The subjects of this study(thesis) are 3-year old toddlers who attend A child-care center and D child-care center respectively and I conducted tests of emotional intelligence and aggressiveness on 30 toddlers whose parents agreed with this study's aims and set 15 toddlers of A child-care center as experimental group and those of D child-care center as control group. Number of each groups was used with natural allocation method based on convenience sampling regardless of gender. The tests were conducted 1-2 times a week and total 12 times from April 23 to June 15, 2012 for 8 weeks and the experimental group experienced the art therapy but the control group didn't. The measurement used for this study was which Lee Jae Yun(2004) modified and supplemented both Kim Kyung Hee(1999)'s teacher rating scale for toddlers'emotional intelligence and Lee Young Ae(2002)'s teacher rating scale for toddler's aggressiveness. The experiment design used for this study were analyzed with SPSS 18.0(ver.). Before conducting art therapy program, I did pre-test two groups of toddlers for examining homogeneity and as a result, there were no significant differences between both groups'emotional intelligence and aggressiveness. The post-test was conducted on two groups with same method one week after finishing the art therapy. In order to figure out effects of the art therapy program, I analyzed toddlers'emotional intelligence and aggressiveness quantitatively. The research results through analyzing the source data of the study are following. First, in order to figure out the art therapy program's quantitative effects on improvement of toddlers'emotional intelligence, I checked changes between both pre-test and post-test result of teacher rating scale on toddlers'emotional intelligence and there was statistically significant result. With subsection of emotional intelligence, use of selfemotion, control of emotion and suppress of impulse and personal relation technique contributed to improvement of toddlers'emotional intelligence while recognition of others'emotion and care for them didn't. Second, in order to figure out the art therapy program's quantitative effect on decrease of toddlers'aggressiveness, I checked changes between both pre-test and post-test result of teacher rating scale on toddlers' aggressiveness and there was also statistically signigicant result. With subsection of aggressiveness, aggressiveness toward others and linguistic aggressiveness decreased while aggressiveness toward objects didn't. These research result shows applying art therapy program's to prompt toddlers'emotional intelligence while it decreases their aggressiveness.
