한국경찰학 연구의 경향분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 경찰학의 개념적 정의를 통하여 경찰학의 학문적 영역을 고찰하고 한국공안행정학보를 중심으로 그 영역을 분류한다. 또한 이를 토대로 경찰학의 연구경향을 파악하고 경찰학 발전에 시사점을 제시하는데 있다. 한국공안행정학회보의 창간호부터 제26호까지 게재된 논문의 특징을 살펴보면, 첫째, 논문 게재의 양적 증가이다. 게재 논문은 태동기에 비해 성장기에 100%가 증가하였다. 이러한 양적 증가는 2000년부터 연 2회, 2005년부터는 연 3회로 점차적인 발간 횟수 의 증가, 경찰학 분야 연구자의 증가, 경찰행정학과와 관련 학과의 증가, 대학연구업적 평가 등이 복합적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 판단된다. 연구의 양적 성장은 학술연구의 질적 성장을 위한 하부구조를 의미한다. 둘째, 연구주제의 편중이다. 대 주제 분류에서 경찰행정 분야가 전체의 179편 중 85편(47.5%), 경찰운영 34편(19.0%)로 전체의 66.5%를 점유하고 있어 연구주제가 편중되고 있음을 나타내고 있다. 중 주제 분류에서도 경찰학 기초에서는 전체에서 11편(6.1%)의 점유를 나타내고 있으며 이 중 이념 및 연구방법 2편(18.0%)에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 경찰활동 28편(15.6%)중 지역사회 경찰활동이 경찰활동 전체의 17편(61.0%)을 점유하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 경찰행정의 경우 85편(47.5%) 중 인사 및 조직이 74편(87.0%)을 점유하고 있었다. 경찰운영의 경우 34편(19.0%) 중 수사와 생활안전이 22편(65.0%)으로 나타나 연구주제가 소수의 연구분야에 집중되어 있다고 판단된다. 셋째, 공동연구형태의 증가이다. 연구형태를 살펴보면 태동기에 비해 성장기는 공동연구가 활발히 나타나고 있다. 2인 공동연구 또는 3인공동연구의 형태가 증가하고 있다. 공동연구의 증가는 학자들 간의 분업 또는 협업연구가 활발해지고 있다고 판단된다. 넷째, 남성 중심의 논문게재 편중이다. 논문게재의 성별현황을 살펴보면 태동기에 비해 성장기는 많은 여성들의 논문이 게재되고 있으나 중복 게재를 제외하면 실제 소수 여성 연구자의 논문이 게재되고 있다. 다섯째, 연구방법의 편중이다. 연구방법을 살펴보면 서술적 연구(79.3%)의 중심으로 계량적 연구와 이론ㆍ개념적 연구, 복합적 연구의 연구 방법은 미약하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to consider the academic domains of police science through the conceptual definition of police science, and so identify the research tendency of police science over such domains, and then present the implications for the development of police science. This study examined the features of the papers which were published in from the initial number to No. 26 of KAPSCJ Journal. The results of this study are as follows. First, its tendency is the quantitative increase of paper publications. The published papers increased by 100% in the growth period growth in comparison with in the period of the quickening period. This quantitative increase is judged to be influenced complexly by the gradual increase of journal publication frequency twice per annum from 2000 and three times per annum from 2005, and the increase of researchers in the field of police science, and the increase of police administration department and related departments, and the university research achievements evaluation. Such quantitative increase means the infrastructure for the qualitative growth of academic researches. Second, its tendency is the overemphasis of research themes. In the major theme classification, among a total of 179 pieces, the field of police administration accounts for 85 pieces(47.5%), and the field of police operation accounts for 34 pieces(19.0%). And so both fields account for 66.5% of the total. And then it indicates that research themes are overemphasized. Also, in medium theme classification, basic police science accounts for 11 pieces(6.1%) of the total. Among them, the research on the ideology & research method of 2 pieces is weak relatively. Among the 28 pieces(15.6%) of police activities, community police activities accounts for 17 pieces(61.0%) of the total police activities. Among the 85 pieces(47.5%) of police administration, personnel & organization account for 74 pieces(87.0%). Among the 34 pieces(19.0%) of police operation, criminal investigation and life safety account for 22 pieces(65.0%). So, it is judged that research themes are concentrated on a few of research fields. Third, its tendency is the increase of collaborative research form. In research forms, collaborative researches appear actively in the growth period in comparison with in the quickening period. 2-person collaborative research form or 3-person collaborative research form is increasing. Fourth, its tendency is the overemphasis of male-centered paper publications. In the gender state of paper publications, many females' papers are published in the growth period in comparison with in the quickening period. But except redundant publications, actually only a few females' papers are published. Fifth, its tendency is the overemphasis of research methods. In research methods, descriptive research(79.3%) is overemphasized. But, the research methods including quantitative research, theoretical and conceptual research, and complex research are weak.
