영문 초록

This paper provides guidelines for constructing an EFL syllabus on feature films. There are several film texts and other materials which emphasize feature films but none that provide sound pedagogical guidelines for their use. The main focus of a feature film EFL syllabus should be to develop students speaking ability. Therefore, feature film use needs to reach beyond listening comprehension skills and into the realm of speaking skills. The guidelines here stress activities for communication and language use, including memorization activities to enhance speaking. Constructing and following a syllabus which emphasizes speaking and communicative activities legitimizes the use of foreign films in the EFL classroom and provides the teacher with both sound rationale and practices.
