국문 초록

조선왕조 당대의 사실은 관찬이든 사찬이든 역사서에 기록되어 후대에 전해졌다. 그 과정에서 사서의 편찬은 공정성의 담보가 요구되었다. 그런데 사서의 찬자가 100% 객관성을 견지했을까 하는 점은 큰 의문으로 다가온다. 역사든 기록이든 사람에 의해 이루어지고, 그 과정에서 과실이 발생할 수 있는 개연성은 충분하기 때문이다. 본고는 세조 정권을 세운 인사들의 역사서술 태도를 살폈다. 그들은 『세종실록』에 자신들이 옹립한 군주의 묘호를 삽입하였으며, 『문종실록』과 『단종실록』의 본문에는 묘호를 일반명사화 하여 사용하는 무모함을 발휘하였다. 결국 자신들이 세운 정권의 역사 사실을 기록한 『세조실록』은 물론, 이전 시기에 편찬된 실록까지 입맛에 맞는 내용으로 수정했던 것이다. 권력에 좌우되어 실록이 실록답지 못한 대표적인 사례의 하나가 『세조실록』이라고 할 수 있는 것이다.

영문 초록

It is the facts in the Chosun Dynasty that were handed down to posterity in the form of historical books either officially compiled or individually collected. The fairness of opinion was required to be met inprocess of the compilation of historical books. Whether historiographers certainly had their fair views leaves room for doubts. That is why it is easily probable with errors regardless of the histories or records made by historiographers themselves. This article discusses the attitudes toward historical narrative opinions of the people who helped King Sejo seize power. They inserted the posthumous name of the King whom they helped to the throne in Sejongsillok and further used the posthumous name in the body of Munjongsillok and Danjongsillok recklessly and hardily. Ultimately, they adapted both Sejosillok composed of the historical facts of the regime founded by them and the previously recorded silloks for themselves. For this reason, it can be said that Sejosillok is typically not the true sillok because it was influenced by power.
