규방가사가 지닌 일상성의 양상과 의미 탐구

국문 초록

이 논문에서는 규방가사의 향유와 창작, 그리고 작품 세계가 지닌 일상성의 의미를 노동과 놀이라는 관점을 통해 논의했다. 일반적인 규방가사에 노동이 고통의 대상으로 그려진다는 점에서, 여성이 일을 통해 결실을 맺음으로써 자아성취감을 드러내는 작품들은 특별한 의미를 가진다. 가족간의 유대감은 여성에게 긍정적으로 작용하여 힘든 노동을 극복하는 원동력이 된다. 주체적 입장에서의 노동은 가문을 빛낸 후손을 길러내는 과정에서 겪은 힘든 과거의 일상을 회고조로 그려낸 가사에서도 찾아볼 수 있다. 또한 향촌사족사회의 경제가 어려워지면서 여성 노동의 의미가 재산 축적으로까지 확대되는데, <복선화음가>에서는 여성의 노동을 통한 재산 축적을 긍정하는 변화된 가치관이 나타난다. 규방가사의 창작과 향유는 중요한 놀이 중의 하나였다. 직접적으로 놀이를 배경으로 창작된 작품은 기행 가사와 화전가에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 화전가에는 놀이를 통해 여성 간의 연대가 이루어지는 작품들과, 집단 간에 조롱 섞인 논쟁을 하면서 갈등을 해결해가는 작품들이 보인다. 가문 내에서 화전가를 주고받는 놀이는 소통과 화합의 한 방식이었다. 조선후기 여성들은 가족애와 가문의식에 기대어 노동 속에서 소중한 일상을 찾았고, 적극적인 경제 활동을 통해 자존감을 높였다. 노동의 고단함을 규방가사의 창작과 향유를 통해 이겨내고 화전놀이 등으로써 풀어내면서, 노동과 놀이의 균형을 맞추어 일상을 지켜나갔다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the meaning of appreciating and creating Gyubanggasa (women's lyrics) as well as of its work world from the perspective of labor and pastime games. Gyubanggasa generally describe labor as the symbol of pain, and from this viewpoint, works that describe that women bore fruits through work thus achieving self-realization offer special meaning. Family ties work affirmatively for women, inspiring women to overcome hard labor. Labor described from the subjective viewpoint can be found in lyrics that describe the recollection of the past hardworking routines for fostering descendants that shone their households. Also, amid the native tribal society suffering economic difficulty, the meaning of women's labor expands to cover the accumulation of wealth, and one such example is lyrics wherein such changes to values are described. The creation and appreciation of Gyubanggasa is one of major pastimes. Works that involve pastimes can be found in lyrics of travel and Hwajeonga lyrics. Hwajeonga lyrics are comprised of works that describe women's unity through playing pastime games, and works that describe groups joking and arguing to resolve conflicts. The pastime games that involve reciting and singing Hwajeongga within households is one method of communication and unity. In the second half of Joseon Dynasty, women looked for precious value of dailiness through labor by depending on family love and being conscious of their households. They also enhanced their self- esteem by conducting economic activities positively. They overcame the pain of labor by creating and appreciating Gyubanggasa, and consoled themselves through the Hwajeonnori game, thus balancing between labor and pastime.
