영문 초록

The purpose of this thesis is to examine how further study on women writers, their work, and it's female characters should be progressed in the field of the classical lyric poem. Three parts follow to make up this study: an investigation of research history', 'a critical introspection of research history', and 'future prospect and tasks'. 'Investigation of research history' surveys current studies carried out under feminist influence in the recent 10 years. This research history is organized according to 'main research viewpoints', dividing it's contents into 'criticism against male dominated viewpoints"(classics criticism) and 'examination of the characteristics of woman writers/works.' In the later, three perspectives are introduced: interest m feminity or aesthetic characteristics (feminity, the female principle, characteristics of sensibility), investigation in historical point of view (feminine community, family, family background and women), and interest in a tradition of the female genre. 'Criticism of research history' specifies that the overall tendency of research history was in locating 'experience or characteristics unique to women.' This tendency stems from two research attitudes: the generalizing of female experience into 'a singular universal one' and the result of a methodology that attempts to determine feminine characteristics through 'the contrasting male writers' works'. This research attitude has brought about consequences chat merge diverse feminine experiences and the songs wrought from them into a singular voice, image, norm and experience, imprinting onto lyrical poems an image of 'essential woman'. This perspective on lyrical poems written by women is not any different from the patriarchal attitude that marginalizes differentials, acknowledges only 'a singular universality', and regulates into a 'singular order'. The existing literary definitions that do not embrace diverse communities/experiences/themes/objeas are too limited concepts for the diverse communities of today. Therefore, research on classical feminine literature muse turn from 'uniqueness' to emphasize 'diversity'. Three prospects are introduced in 'prospects and future tasks'. First, feminine lyrical poems that have been excluded from the canon must be reclaimed. The diverse traditions of a lost tradition, such as diverse song genres, subjectivities, and conventions of singing, should all be recovered. Also, this reclaiming must at the same time generate a new 'force of naming' to lyrical poems t0 bring about an actual tradition. Especially, this is most crucial for today's women who are in need of female role models. Therefore, women's lives, experience, and desire must all be reported without exception, for example, a 'literary understanding/evaluation of Kiseung lyrical poems' can not be done separate from 'understanding Kisengs'. To achieve this, approaches to unhistorized poetic history and history of everyday life are essential. Turd, research into 'classical lyrical poems and women' must constitute a new value paradigm that will breathe life into a new encompassing literary community which includes women. Feminine experience/perspective/ values that have been hidden and repressed are required for a new tradition/force of new values needed/demanded for today/the future.
