국문 초록

본 연구에서는 "일대일 개별 교육방식"의 노인 휴대전화 교육프로그램에 대한 만족도를 평가해 보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 두 가지 면에서 기존의 노인 교육프로그램 만족도에 대한 평가와 다른 특징을 가진다. 첫째, 평가의 주체를 교육받은 노인 참여자로만 한정하지 않고, 개별 교육을 실시한 교육도우미와 프로그램 개발 및 진행에 관여하였던 연구자까지를 평가의 주체로 포함시킴으로써 평가의 주체를 다양화하였다. 둘째, 양적 평가와 질적 평가를 병행하여 사용한 다원적 접근방식을 기반으로 하여, 양적 평가로는 노인과 교육도우미를 각각 대상으로 한 설문조사방법을, 질적 평가로는 노인과 교육도우미를 각각 대상으로 한 초점 집단 인터뷰(Focus Group Interview: FGI), 연구자의 프로그램 진행과정에 대한 현장 관찰기록 분석, 교육도우미가 매 회기마다 작성한 과정 평가의 총 네 가지 방식을 활용하여 수행하였다. 주요 연구 결과를 살펴보면, 개별 교육방식에 대한 질적 평가는 노인과 교육도우미 모두 개별 교육방식에 대해 매우 긍정적으로 평가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 양적 평가결과 노인과 교육도우미 모두에게서 개별 교육방식이 가장 높은 점수의 평가를 받았다. 노인과 교육도우미의 양적 평가 결과는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으며, 교육기간, 교육시간, 교육장소, 교육 자료는 다소 낮은 평가가 이루어졌으며, 교육내용, 교육주기, 과제물 수행에 대해서는 대체로 긍정적인 평가가 이루어졌다 양적 평가와 병행하여 사용된 질적 평가자료 분석결과는 노인 휴대전화 프로그램 만족도에 대한 노인과 교육도 우미의 의견 및 태도를 좀 더 심도 있게 알 수 있도록 도와주었다. 결론에서는, 연구의 함의와 향후 연구과제에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study evaluates satisfaction with the mobile phone education program(MPEP) for older adults, which employes one-to-one teaching method. This study has two features. First, evaluation is performed from multiple perspectives including older participants themselves, all educators who were an one-to-one teacher of using mobiles for each older participant, and researchers who designed the study and developed the MPEP. Second, this study posits triangulation approach by including both quantitative and qualitative evaluation method. Specifically, four types of data were utilized: focus group interview was performed for older participants and educators respectively, field notes which described the process of the MPEP and which were written by a researcher, qualitative session evaluation forms written by each educator, quantitative post-questionnaires for older participants and educators respectively. Quantitative data analyses indicate that both older participants and educators were very satisfied with one-to-one teaching method. No difference of quantitative evaluation between older participants and educators existed, and program duration, session hours, session places, session materials exhibited lower satisfaction scores while program contents, session interval, homework after session had higher satisfaction scores. Analyses of qualitative data were useful for revealing attitudes and opinions of older participants and educators toward the MPEP. The results of the study were discussed and future research directions were suggested.
