심리적 통제전략과 안녕감 간의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 중년ㆍ노년성인들의 심리적 적응에 영향을 미치는 대처기제를 확인하고 통제전략과 주관적 안녕감 간의 관계를 알아보기 위해 실시되었다. 청년(n=373), 중년(n=193), 노년(n=100)성인들을 대상으로 통제전략 척도, 심리ㆍ사회적 스트레스, 주관적 안녕감을 측정하여 연령집단별로 비교하였다. 연구결과, 일차적 통제 전략인 '노력과 기술투자'는 연령이 증가함에 따라 감소하였으며, 이차적 통제 전략인 '소망 낮추기'는 연령이 증가함에 따라 유의미하게 많이 사용하였다. 또한 청년과 중년성인에 비해 노년성인들은 이차적 통제 전략인 '하향비교와 자기보호귀인'을 유의미하게 많이 사용하였다. 통제전략과 주관적 안녕감과의 관계를 살펴본 결과, 청년성인의 경우, 일차적 통제 전략인 '목표추구의 지속성'과 '노력과 기술투자'가 주관적 안녕감과 유의미한 수준에서 정적 관계를 보여 주었다. 또한 중년성인과 노년성인의 경우, 일차적 통제 전략인 '목표추구의 지속성'과 이차적 통제 전략인 '하향비교와 자기보호귀인' 둘 다 주관적 안녕감에 유의미하게 정적 관계를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 관련한 본 연구의 의의와 제한점 및 후속연구에 대한 시사점이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

This study examined the relationship of control strategies and subjective well-being that explained psychological adjustment on middle and older adulthood. Present study compared young adulthood(n=373), middle adulthood(n=193) and older adulthood(n=100) on the Control Strategy Scale, GHO-12, and the Subjective Well-being scale. The result reveal that primary control strategy(Investment effort & time) significantly decreased with age. In contrast, secondary control strategy(lowering aspiration) increased with age. Old age group showed significantly more use for secondary control strategy(downward comparison & self-protective attribution) than young and middle age group. In addition, primary control strategy(persistence goal striving and investment effort & time) had strong positive relation to subjective well-being in young adulthood as compared with middle and old age group. In middle age and old age, both primary control strategy(persistence in goal striving) and compensative secondary control strategy(downward comparison & self-protective attribution) had positive relation to subjective well-being. Finally, the implication and limitations of this study were discussed with suggestions for the further studies.
