영문 초록

This paper aims tocompare Anne Nelson's The Guys and Neil LaBute's Tre Mercy Seat to argue that both plays are about 9/11 and emotional healing through building human relationships. The aim of the first play is to associate individual memories of trauma and create a sense of community while that of the other is to dissociate individuals from collective memories of trauma and focus on having the sense of a self. Both plays are related to 9/11 in the sense that they are about the people affected by the disaster rather than directly dealing with the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
