국문 초록

지난 백여 년 동안, 문학해석이론에 있어서의 ‘작가’의 중요성은, 먼저 러시아의 형식주의자들, 그리고 미국 신비평의 이론적 접근을 거쳐 마침내 구조주의와 신 구조주의를 거치며 논란의 중심이 되어왔다. 본 논문은, 특히, 마이클 리파테르(Michael Riffaterre)의 구조적 문체론과 수용미학에 특별한 초점이 맞춰져 있다. 문학작품에 있어서 ‘작가’의 역할은, 텍스트를 연결하는 암시적 언급의 도입, 텍스트에 대한 독자의 수용, 예술에 대한 작가의 태도라는 새로운 견해로 이해될 수 있다. 나아가 우리는, 문학작품을 체계화하는 형식적 원리의 총체라 할 수 있는 암시적 언급이, (말하자면, l'archilecteur [super reader]와 같은) 교양 있는 박식한 독자들에 의해 받아들여지고 작가의 시학을 지배하는 원리에 의해 확정된다고 논하기도 한다. 암시적 언급에서 작가들의 예술적인 시도나 예술을 지배하는 방법과 원칙을 규정하는 작가의 개인적인 삶과 태도의 모든 양상은 다시 한 번 해석이론으로 회귀한다.

영문 초록

In the past hundred years, the importance of the author to literary theories of interpretation has been disputed, first by the Russian Formalists, then via the theoretical approach of American New Criticism, and finally, by Structuralism and Post-structuralism. In this paper, special attention is given to Michael Riffaterre’s Structural Stylistics and Reception theory. The role of the author is perceived in a new light, through the introduction of an implicit reference that unites the text, the reception of the text by readers, and the artistic attitudes of the author. We also discuss implicit reference, which is the sum of formal principles organizing literary work, as perceived by educated and informed readers (i.e., l’archilecteur [super reader]) and confirmed by the principles governing the author’s poetics. In implicit reference, all those aspects of writers’personal lives and behaviour which define their artistic practice and methods and the principles governing their art return once more to the theory of interpretation.
