러시아 P세대의 등장과 사회적 특징

국문 초록

격동기의 현대사 속에 성장한 세대를 러시아 작가 V.펠레빈은 자신의 소설 제목에서 'P세대'로 명명한다. 이들은 펩시콜라를 즐겨 찾던 신세대가 머나먼 이국의 정취를 느끼면서 새로운 미래에 대한 꿈을 키워가는 인물로 묘사된다. 본고에서는 세대연구에 대한 일반적 이론을 바탕으로 러시아의 P세대가 주관적ㆍ객관적 상황에서 어떻게 형성되었는지, 다른 세대와 어떤 차별성을 보이는지 고찰하고 있다. 아울러 세대관계 속에서 규정되어야 할 이 세대가 러시아 사회에서 어떠한 의미를 지니고 있는지를 규명한다. 젊은이들의 가치 선호도는 다원주의적 세계관, 다양한 옵션이 존재함을 보여주고, 실용주의와 개인주의적 사고 속에서 소유욕과 자기 우선적인 가치관이 중시되고 있다. 반면 P세대에서도 다른 연령층에서 보여주는 정서 및 태도와 유사한 일종의 사회적 범주가 나타난다. 결국 P세대가 보여준 특별한 양상은 정치적 민주체제와 경제적 자유주의 속에서, 개인의 분방한 의지가 반영된 적극적인 사회화의 국면으로 해석할 수 있다. 또한 P세대는 세대 간의 단절과 갈등이 아니라 변증법적 발달 속에서 파악되는 또 다른 하나의 '반명제'로 간주되어야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The generation who grew up in the turbulent recent history is named 'P generation' by a Russian writer V.Pelevin in the subject of his novel. They enjoyed the Pepsi Cola and were looking for new dreams for the future by feeling a faraway exotic mood. In this paper deals how P generation has been formed under the subjective, objective situation, and what differences are shown with other generations on the basis of the general theory for the study of generation. Also this generation will be defined the meaning in the Russian society in the context of the relation of generations. Value preference of the young people shows the pluralistic view of the world, and the existence of a variety of options. And in the pragmatic and individualistic thinking, possessive sense and one's primary values are emphasized. While the P generation shows emotions and attitudes in the different age groups and appears a similar kind of social categories. After all, a special aspect of P generation in economic liberalism and political democracy can be interpreted as a phase of socialization reflecting the aggressive individual will. The concept of P generation should be considered not as a generation gap or conflict, but as a 'antithesis' in the dialectical development.
