민간경비원의 정서지능과 사회적 지지가 직무소진에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

현대 사회에서 범죄의 다양성은 시간이 흐를수록 사회적으로도 심각한 문제가 되고 있는 실정이며, 경찰의 부족한 치안공백을 보충하기 위하여 민간경비원의 역할이 증대되고 있다. 그러나 민간경비원들은 업무수행 시 각종위기상황에 노출되어 다양한 스트레스를 경험하고 있다. 이 연구는 민간경비원의 업무특성에 따른 소진의 정도를 실증적으로 파악하였으며, 또한 민간경비원의 정서지능과 사회적 지지와 소진과의 관계를 규명하기위한 실증적인 연구이다. 이를 위하여 서울, 경기, 부산 등 민간경비회사에서 근무하는 민간경비원 150명을 대상으로 설문한 설문지를 분석하였다. 분석결과는 첫째, 민간경비원의 주업무에 따른 직무소진간의 차이가 나타났는데 특수경비를 주업무로 하는 민간경비원의 신체적 소진이 다른 경비업종에 종사하는 민간경비원보다 높은 것으로 나타났고, 둘째, 정서지능의 하위변수 중 정서활용이 심리적 소진에 부적(-) 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 정서지능이 소진에 감소에 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었으나, 셋째, 사회적 지지가 민간경비원의 소진에 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 조사되었다. 따라서 관리자는 민간경비원의 환경과 조직의 특성으로 발생하는 소진을 감소시킬 수 있는 관리방안을 적극적으로 도입하여야 할 것이며 또한 민간경비원의 정서지능 향상을 위한 교육과 및 훈련과 정서에 관한 부정적인 인식에 대한 전환이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Crime is diversifying, increasingly causing more serious social problems, leaving gaps in public security efforts of the police. Private security is trying to fill in the gap, but private security workers are experiencing more stress as they are increasingly exposed to various dangerous situations on the job. This research empirically examines degrees of exhaustion in relation to type of work in private security, and also the relationship between emotional intelligence and social support and exhaustion of private security workers. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on 150 private security workers working in private security firms in Seoul, Gyeonggi province and Busan. Results indicate that first, there are differences in work exhaustion relating to type of work of private security workers. Physical work exhaustion was significant particularly among private security workers who work in special security in comparison to other sectors of private security. Second, emotional application, a subvariable of emotional intelligence, has a significant negative correlation with psychological exhaustion. This points to the effect of emotional intelligence on exhaustion. Third, social support does not have a significant impact on exhaustion of private security workers. Therefore, managers of private security should actively implement measures that decrease exhaustion relating to environmental and organizational characteristics of private security, and also need to change negative perception of education and training for enhancement of emotional intelligence of private security workers.
